Out for a month with a toe injury.

    Source: @lee_ryder

Time for Marveaux to get a start?

    Or Ben Arfa?

But I'd rather go with Marveaux as he is an out and out winger.

Edit: Or Santon at left back and Raylor at right wing. That could be another option.

    Got to be Marv.

Shame really. I thought during the stoke game he got a good assist and started to show a bit of confidence.

ive been calling for marv to get a start for ages but i didn't want obertan to need to be injured for him to get it. I thought he had a good game against stoke. he can be highly infuriating but i do think he has a lot to learn and he's still developing so will need pitch time. i do think that we could be switching him and marv around a bit more though. i think a sustained run for marv might see obertan struggle to get back in though.

Marv or raylor on the right, but I thought raylor and jonas were just starting to get an understanding so i wouldn't break them up yet. If Tiote is back it'll probably be Guthrie on the right mind you.

Bit of a shame as he put in his best performance in a Toon shirt against Stoke. We've got Marveaux who's a very good player but do we play him on the right or swap him and Jonas? But then Jonas won't be able to protect Ryan Taylor any more. Decisions for Pardew, get well soon Obertan.

Could put Raylor over to right-back and put Santon on the left?

No way should we be putting Raylor back in midfield.

He's found his position... full back.

He's too workmanlike and not creative enough to play wide.

Looking on the bright side, it gives Marv a start without having to drop Obertan. Oberetan will know he was starter and playing well, and with luck won't suffer much of a knock in confidence. Marv knows he has a chance and has to grab it. The competition shoudl be good

I have an awful feeling that Pardew will play Guthrie out wide to reward him for his good performance against Stoke.

If that happens, we'll lose. Guthrie is a good CM but an AWFUL winger. It has to be Marveaux. Please Pardew. Don't be stupid.

It will probaly be Marveaux. Pardew said Tiote was touch and go for saturday so Guthrie will probaly start in CM.

    Touch and go apparently.

I don't think Pards will want to change to much from the 11 we've been playing this season. He'll probably just swap Marv straight in for Obertan.

Shame for Obertan, thought he played well against Stoke. Marveaux will surely start in his place, if not maybe Santon on the right wing? He looks decent going forward and would maybe provide Simpson with a bit more cover. Anyone but Guthrie out there, he played well against Stoke but he is not a winger.

Didn't a few people say Marv was very innefective on the right down blackburn? I know its only one match but could be a sign of things to come from him playing down that side.

He cut inside a lot, as you would expect. It did limit Ben Arfa's space somewhat, he might be more effective if we're playing 2 up top though as there'll be space for him to cut inside to and Simpson could overlap.

Pardew hasn't made too many bad choices this season. He doesn't pick what I would pick. He gets results. Seems likely he knows more about it than I do.

For me it would be a straight swap with Marveaux but if he does something different I will trust his judgement over mine

Whatever happens I reckon he'll make a straight swap on that right hand side and it's unlikely he'll change anything else unless Tiote's coming back in. He certainly won't be shuffling people around I don't think.
