Would be quite ironic wouldnt it? Southgate's England knock out Low's Germany and that ends his reign as Germany manager...

I like Low, he did well with a pretty functional bunch of players. It does not look dissimilar to Southgate at this stage though does it? Germany were third in the 2010 world cup before he won his 1 major trophy in 2014. His best result was runner up in the euros, Southgate already matched that too. Arguably Low looked lost at the end of his reign. Many would argue without Hansi Flick the Germany team faded and there is no chance Flick comes with Low now of course.

Honestly mate, I just dont see Low as a viable option at all, but who knows...

Low stayed on a bit too long at Germany. International football is cyclical, things like Fergie and Wenger never really happen. I just think Southgates time is up, i doubt the players will suddenly turn it on at the tournament. I'd have gone for Potter tbh but he's not going to leave Chelsea so soon.

The short answer to that I'd say is that you can't "air condition" open space.

It's like driving along on a hot day with the AC on and the windows down.

i am not even sure i want to watch the game with germany, expect another dull defeat and as i have little interest in the coming world cup (how the hell they have managed to get a world cup in such a hot country that has had little to do with football, that needs to break completely with all previous traditions is beyond me...that is, if you take away any accusation of lots of money changing hands), never been a fan of southgates style but he has got some good results until recently.

Can you name some in-form English goal scorers?

    Our top scorer is Scottish

    Man City have the beast

    Liverpool Saha

If Kane had Son with him... it could all be different

I think he made a rod for his own back with Maguire the other night. Mind you I actually thought he was ok apart from 1 mistake. He is one player now though that the media, and social media, are watching for any mistake to highlight. If I were Southgate I would not be picking him. On the flip side he did play Dier, who is a form player, and I thought he actually showed up well. He might actually be the one that pushes Maguire out. I would have given Tomori a chance tonight, but maybe he hasnt shown anything in training, who knows.

I hope we see Toney do well tonight. We definitely need someone to push Kane and I think he has a swagger about him. There are times in games Kane needs replacing but you look at the bench and scratch your head. Would also like to see Bellingham keep his spot in favour of Henderson, but depends what demands the clubs have placed on minutes to be played I guess.

There was an article a while back, cant remember where, suggesting this would be least watched world cup, on tv, because people have decided to not watch it because of where it is. I respect that if people take that stance. I do wonder though when the games are on, and certainly when we get to the knockout stages, how many will be tempted to switch on. I openly admit I will watch as many games as I can, despite having misgivings, but to me the world cup has always been the cherry on the football cake and I love it more than any other tournament. We could be seeing Argentina v France as early as the second round, Spain and Brazil in the quarters, plus other classic matchups - England Germany in the semis anyone? I reckon the tv audiences might just creep up for those games.

I would usually watch the match.. England v Germany!

However cos of fuel costs no gas fire or central heating is happening until it is very very cold.

We do however have the Woodburner on (in g'dads room), wood is gratis from Son. So the g'kids have commandeered the room to watch cartoons Kipo?

After 9.00pm should be okay to watch.

    Maguire concedes penalty

    Germany 1-0 up

Southgate not doing Maguire, himself or England any favours here.

man up & change it up Gareth.

The issue with southgate is he doesnt have a plan B. Very rarely has he made positive changes when England are behind to change the result of the game. Always has so many defenders on the bench, his starting line up very rarely changes and now some of his key players arent getting game time at club level, needs to be braver

Sterling. Possibly our most dangerous player and Fosrn, a player who has that “something out of nothing “ in him. Both taken off. Harry Kane who honestly looks like he doesn’t give a flying **** stays on. Foden hasn’t been in the game massively but he has that special something.
Pep must’ve been on the phone and said “take him off. He might end up as bad as the rest of that ****”

Looks like the last Euros was the high watermark. And we were bloody awful for most of those games as well.

Not even worth turning up to the World Cup.
