Actually, just realised if ABK plays I'll be rooting for Germany tonight. <laugh>

Isn’t there a rule that you have to have 3 keepers in?

JWP is always going to struggle to get any real playing time for England unless there are injuries as Southgate obviously picks players who have done well for him first and foremost. JWP won’t get a chance to play well if he doesn’t play. He hasn’t been great this season aswell so can’t really argue he deserves it on club form either (Villa was possibly the worst he’s ever played)

No, I actually don't think JWP has done enough to start, but Henderson walks back in with one leg, so it must be pretty demoralising for him. Not to mention that you win the league with AC Milan, and you don't get a single minute over a much derided bloke who can't get in the starting line up for a poor Manchester United side...or a right back being shoe-horned into a CB role.

It's funny some of the support for GS, because it's the same stuff we here about why people are wrong to support Ralph (who I think is a significantly more accomplished manager than GS, despite my misgivings with him on occasion). He's a nice guy, we've had good results etc etc.

Frankly, we did have some good tournaments with GS, just as we did have a good tournament with Claude Puel. But like Puel, we lost against the first half decent, organised team we came up against, after some very generous draws. We lost the EUROs against a team that has failed to qualify for the last two World Cups. We have a very good squad of players, and we should have won that, against a very, very limited Italian squad. But GS consistently fails to change up his negative, safety-first tactics.

Maguire getting in ahead of Tomori shows Southgate doesn't actually watch Serie A. I mean, I can't think of any other reason he's been left out ahead of that muppet. The team he SHOULD play:

    Ramsdale
    James Tomori Stones Trippier/KWP
    Rice Bellingham
    Mount Foden Saka
    Kane

Isn’t Mount Foden Saka a volcano in Japan?

I was listening to 606 as I drove to Bristol yesterday evening, and a chap phoned in and, perfectly seriously, suggested that Southgate should be replaced immediately with… Jordan Henderson.

It was worth it as it rendered Chris Sutton speechless for several seconds.

Well it does look like JWP won't be going to the WC which is good for us hopefully. I don't think he's really stood out as someone who should be going based on this season so far. Shame for him but he can maintain his hero status with us!!

Watford have sacked yet another manager. Their owners are a complete joke TBH. Literally can't go 3 months without sacking a manager.

Is it just me or is the National Anthem so much more passionate since the passing of HM QEII? Not in a disrespectful way to her, but in a patriotic way?

And that is how VAR should work. One look, done, decision overturned.

As soon as Stones goes off our defence looks a mess.

How can Southgate possibly stick with Maguire now? Dropped by Man United and now gives away a penalty.

Reece James looks like a flamingo crapped on his head. It’s an odd choice of barnet.

And I don't think we're going to win now for sure. 0-2. Great goal.

    Two for Maguire.

Southgate makes two subs. Like for like. What about changing the crap system, Gareth?

Still, if Germany get another, maybe ABK will get a run out.

Why has Reece James got a pink streak in his hair?. Is he 10 years old?
