The vibes that i am feeling about our new owners is fantastic. I have never been as enthusiastic about our future. We know they care about our club and will do right by it. We also know that they wont go spending silly sums of money on silly players and ruin is financially in the long term. I think they are ambitious enough for us to be linked to the likes of Defoe and he is a signing that would be achieveable.
I just hope we get enough points on the board by january so that we are in with a fighting chance and we don't look like a club that is going down , as this would put potential signings off. 20pts by the Arsenal game and i will be a happy man.
Defoe would be very nice but arguably we need 2/3 quality defenders as well; is Tony going to be that generous?

I sincerely hope this is true, a proven goalscorer at top level. But I think him being available to anyone is dependant on a long chain of things - Spurs sign Abedayour from City permanently, Pav seems certain to go probably back to Russia, so to let Defoe go as well Harry will have to sign another top class striker (unless he has a youngster he is confident in). Plus they left VDV out of their European squad, so they need a striker for those games (unless they really don't care) - and the good ones from other clubs may well be cup tied. Makes it all a bit unlikely to me, can't see him letting both Pav and Defoe go at the same time. If these guys are sold, in addition to selling Crouch to Stoke, Harry really does have the full confidence of his board, heart problems or not....

Said it before but isn't it nice to be thinking of the likes of Defoe joining QPR? Not that long ago Rob Hulse was meant to be the answer! If Defoe isn't happy at Spuds and wants to come to a club that will play him every week then he need look no further. I'd love to see him play for Rangers and would take Anelka while we're at it.
