Recall Sir John Hall when owner of Newcastle United saying he wanted to see a day when there was that much outside money coming in to football fans would be able to watch for free to provide atmosphere. He never explained how the free entry would be decided as demand would have far outstripped supply. He also wanted to create a multi sports club and build a new multiuser stadium to stage football, rugby union and ice hockey. That was stopped by protests from nearby residents of the proposed site. A bit like Dr Allam who thought football who thought football should be as free as the air we breathe.
