Glorified friendlies or not, you'd have got good odds before a ball was kicked for the table looking like this after five games...

First time I've watched them (only seen second half) dive the last tournament. Seems to be the same old BS tbh

Same old ****e doesn't really cover it.

Set up amazingly defensive, hope to get a penalty or free kick.

Goal behind, try to attack which leaves the defence wide open.

Southgate can definitely not pat his head and rub his tummy. Only one at a time.

7 and a half hours without a goal from open play. That us a quite frankly amazing statistic

No real surprise. Southgate only managerial experience is getting boro relegated….

Loads said he got lucky with a piss easy games in the WC to get to the semi and lost the 2 games against the tough teams. we scored about 70% of our goals from set pieces.

Then similar in the euros. Beat Germany which was great although was a poor German team and then lost to Italy after going 1-0 up then sitting back to defend.

Guy can’t set up an attacking team. We’ll get out the groups at the WC because it’s piss easy and we’ll score a couple of set piece goals. But doesn’t know how to break down a team that is actually set up well.

Fa won’t want to sack him even if we get knocked out in first round as he got us to WC semi and euro final

And people will stand up and defend him to the hilt.

    It really is amazing

No hope pope (can't kick or pass at all)
The covid denier (can run but nothing else)
Dire (as in how the **** is he getting a game)
    Maguire (why bother)
James (don't pass it to me)
Saka (right winger playing lb in a 5 wow)
Bellingham (made the mistake of thinking he should move for a pass)
    Rice (reducing his value daily)
    Sterling (****)
    Foden (wasted)
    Kane (slow and the Saint)

523 or something more like 541

They looked really uncomfortable starting from minute 1 and had no real plan but in fitness after 15mins settled down into a bit of a pattern of defending and hacking.

The public, or more importantly the media will have to turn against him.

We can all out defend, or all out attack, but seemingly setting up a team that can do a bit of both us completely beyond him. It's like the concept hasn't even occurred to him in fact.

I wouldn't mind, but we've got a really good crop of of technically gifted players, players who can pass, keep the ball under pressure, God forbid but compete and he sets them up so England look like a Sunday league team.

I don't watch England often (as I've admitted many times) but when did he go all out attack?

All out attack is exaggerating. It was more didn't defend as much to be fair. We did have a shot though which is what confused me, while suddenly looking wide open in defence

Maybe I should have said all out attack for southgate

The good thing about those blood cup coming up is we can all say we cannot support human rights abuses.

The strange thing is watching england in the last two tournaments felt like my human rights were abused.

    Southgate is a genius

He's got very lucky with draws at times and has basically not even had to turn up to qualify but if we leave the luck out of it the genius is how he embraces every cause going.

He will be there at the forefront of every campaign so he gets positive press. Imo this is the only thing that's stopped the media turning massively on him

I do find it amusing that a lot of people are saying they'll boycott this world cup because of the human rights abuse in Qatar, where was the boycott for the Brazilian world cup were there was something like 7 deaths per day on average when building the stadiums.

Definitely nothing to do with not being able to afford Qatar.... definitely not!
