Way before my time I reckon. They spent a long time with Burridge, Wright, Srnicek, Hislop and Given as their keepers. Certainly haven't had an England No.1 since then.

of course Nick Pope is now the best goalkeeper in the world etc and is miles better than Pickford etc etc zzzzzz

Hate these International breaks with no Sunderland footy, however off to see Morecambe v Cambridge this afternoon to get to realise how lucky we are leaving league 1 behind, mind Morecambe have been poor attacking wise so far this season hoping for an upturn today. Haway the Shrimpers<laugh>
Anyone else watching live footy today?

True story marra, me and the wife were having a meal in the Rajpooth Indian restaurant in Durham, mid week, a few days after our games with the skunks play offs,
In walked Burridge with his wife and took a table opposite, remembering it was mid week and empty, for the next 20 minutes he was a complete loud arrogant twat walking in and out of the Kitchen, obviously knew the owners, but spoiled the quiet atmosphere while having a meal, the wife with her limited knowledge of football asked WTF does he think he is,I then told her he was the skunks goalkeeper who nearly got his head kicked off by one of our players.10 minutes later at the front of the restaurant where people come in for takeaways, who walked in for a takeaway…….Paul Hardyman, i nearly choked laughing on my curry and told my wife who had just walked in,Burridge walked straight over and embraced each other and laughed and craiced on until Hardyman’s takeaway came
