There are so many, but the phrase that really is like fingernails scraping down the blackboard of my soul, is.....
"They get on like a house on fire"
Any body who has ever seen or worse been in a house on fire will understand that you would never, ever want a relationship that bears any resemblance.

I ordered a bottle of 'Kwak' and a Duvel in a bar just off the 'Grand Place' Brussels a few years ago..As the barman passed them across to me and asked for the payment,he also requested one of my shoes!!!

Apparently it's a common practice,if you want to Nick the glass and the wooden contraption that holds it(it makes a Kwak sound when you tip it),you can limp away minus one of your Clarks originals...

I never use TLAs, although I just have ..............Three Letter Acronyms.

But then again, why is abbreviation such a long word?

Hull Tigers, apparently a really well thought out shortened variant of Hull City which takes forever to pronounce.
