He essentially admitted all the blame was on the keeper. Unfortunately because of the way the footballing press is he was unable to admit it, but he will be in the loan market for a keeper starting tomorrow, guarantee it. Rachubka will never play in a Leeds shirt again.

How we got him in the first place is beyond me, but loans always seem to work out better than frees so I'm feeling positive. Our only successful free that comes to mind is Becchio, the rest have been terrible wastes of time.

i think we gotten some good squad players on frees but other than that players like clayton and gradel and mccormack have all been transfer fees. They have been very worth it as well. We need to buy some players in jan by starting with keogh

    Schmeichel, Kisnorbo.

Our better signings have been frees, the players Grayson pays money for are usually worse.

i did say squad players not first team players. I was refferring to Sam and nunez, Vayrynen and Forssell. Not anyone that has made an impact on the first team. Although saying that, connolly was a good free

Schmeichel was ok. Wasn't amazing. Compared to Lonergan (paid for) he was crap. Kisnorbo was good, he's not anymore. Not good enough to cut it in this division. Any more? Most of our best players have been paid for, loans, or academy products. Snodgrass, Lees, White, Howson, Clayton, Pugh, McCormack, Keogh, all come under those 3 categories and all played tonight. There is a significantly lower number of players who have made a significant impact who have been free transfers.

Players in our first team this/last season (signed whenever) who we've paid for and seen play well:

McCormack - cost money and done well
Becchio - cost money and done well
Snodgrass - cost money and done well
Gradel - cost money and did well
Clayton - cost money and done well
Pugh - will cost money and looks good
Keogh - will cost money and looks good
Lonergan - cost money and done well
Bromby - cost money and been decent back-up, looking alright when played in the first team

In fact, the only players we've paid money under Grayson for who've not done well are Collins (sold for a profit), O'Brien and Bruce. Doesn't come as a surprise since decent defenders cost more at this level, and the money quite simply hasn't been available.

I'd like to point out that I put 'coalkeeper' in the title of the thread because I was quoting Grayson who can't speak properly.

Unfortunately the moderator of this forum decided to change it out of spite because he won't hear a word said against the manager who has made us a laughing stock.

We've not had anyone spectacular on a free. Our squad is lacking quality in depth because all the frees we've got have been not good enough for whatever reason. Sam, while an amazing acquisition, is injury prone. Nunez is a little one dimensional although promising. Vayrynen and Forsell have shown me **** all. Conolly has been solid for a while I'll give you that, but the first goal was partly his fault. What sort of idiot leaves a ball to roll on like that?

Changed it back for you, scum fan, but forgive me for reading your post "In the market for a coalkeeper?" as a tacit acceptance of a misspelling which you wouldn't have minded changing. Apparently that post was just you repeating your little jibe, which seems like a very weird thing to do. Anyway, you get your little dig reinstated. Hope that pleases you. I'm sure you've never voiced a voiceless consonant by mistake. A heinous error of pronunciation.

Well you may have not done that out of spite but you're calling me a scum fan out of spite.

I'm calling you a scum fan because you said Leeds fans are pathetic. That makes you equivalent to a scum fan in my eyes.

Leeds-18, i like this 'calling clivetime a scum fan from now on thing'.

And Marko, i'm actually agreeing with you but at the same time trying to point out that frees are ok for squad players and the odd gem but the first team should really be made of academy products and players we've paid money for.

Even though he's calling me it for making the point that you agreed with me on, Josh?

    You're both proving my point.

did i agree with you???? read back my comment. You said that leeds fans were pathetic, i did not agree with you on that at all. You said we have a small club mentality, i did not agree with you, i said that as a fan is what i fear most. I also said that the small crowds are making it seem that way which is really ken bates' fault isn't it. You always say i agree with you when i very rarely do.

If you don't agree with it, why do you fear it the most?

Your fear must be based on something, otherwise your biggest fear may as well be a meteorite landing on Elland Road.
