Thought I'd start possibly the earliest morning all thread ever! Just thought I'd share a little bit of modified Dr Seuss with you - very relevant to the team and Simon Grayson at the moment. I'm not normally one to say stuff like this, but keep the faith in this team. MOT!
We've just had the worst defeat in our history, for the second time under Grayson, and you're writing poetry? What the hell is wrong with you? Get a ****ing grip!
love the exceptionally early morning thread before i get started btw. The only issue being is the 1 and 1/4 percent that isnt guaranteed.... thats the worry
I'm making the point that on Sunday, we need to be unified behind the players rather than against them. I can either feel down about the result or try feel upbeat about the future of Leeds. I choose the second option. Grip ****ing got.
i think the bigger issue is not scoring, thats what we are good at and we cant do it. you can put blame onto rachubka for the goals conceded but what about not scoring. 1 scored in the last 3 games....
The reliance on McCormack is why I was slagging off 4-4-2 before the season started. As I said then, it places too much reliance on the 'poacher' scoring the lion's share of the goals. When Beckford didn't perform, Leeds didn't perform. When McCormack doesn't perform, Leeds don't perform. Give it another game, but if Ross can't find his feet, it's time to bring back the 4-2-3-1 that served us well last season. I also feel vindicated in not wanting Gradel to go. As much as he works hard, Pugh doesn't have the same prowess in front of goal, and it was an utterly stupid and entirely pointless decision to let him go when he was contracted at the club. I wasn't there tonight, and have been told that it was a mixture of Rachubka's awful mistakes, individual defensive errors and refereeing decisions that drove the momentum in Blackpool's favour. All of the stuff I've spoken about can be cut out, and I think we'll see a revitalized side at the weekend.
Of course we need to be behind the players, the players aren't the problem. We have plenty of good players and the bad ones don't pick themselves. We need to be unified in demanding a good manager to take us forward. It pains me to see how pathetic our fans have become, they've developed a small club mentality and it's dragging us down. Poetry on a Leeds United forum for ****'s sake! Not anger, not frustration, just whimsy!
i genuinely hope your right 18 but i think 4-4-2 wierdly gives you a better defensive team. The 4-2-3-1 formation relies heavily on the lone striker being able to hold the ball up well and if he has a bad game, the team does. I also dont think we have the players capable of playing that formation anymore. I'd consider giving sam a start though, maybe bring in bromby at CB and maybe forssell as a more experienced player as well.
I can't be bothered with anger and frustration towards a man who's trying his hardest to get Leeds performing. The bad players don't pick themselves, but then again, the transfer budget doesn't determine itself. All you can get is bad players with **** funding. Small club mentality? **** off. Changing manager will help nothing. Staying loyal to your coach is the sign of a stable club, and if stability is small-time, then I'm quite happy to have a small club mentality. You're calling Leeds fans pathetic now - emboldened the quote for anyone in doubt - and I think you should **** off from this forum. That's shameful. You're no better than a scum fan, and it disgusts me. Leeds fans go through a ****ing lot to support their team and should be respected by their own for any opinion they hold about their team. We're meant to be in it together. But you can **** off if that's your attitude towards our fanbase.
it places too much reliance on the 'poacher' scoring the lion's share of the goals. good point. the Lions are scoring plenty these days
that is what i fear most about leeds united. Us becoming happy with just challenging or even getting into the prem and being happy with surviving the drop. I think the lower crowd attendances is helping bring down the attitude regardless of why the crowds are lower. look at west ham, they aren't even a that big of a club but everyone expected them to do well in the transfer window and well in the league because of their name.
Was unbelievable last night to concede 5 goals at home. Kissa, would we have got anything out of the match if Lees had stayed on, and how many goals was Rachubka responsible for ?
Rachubka was responsible for 3 goals and the red card Cairns could do **** all about either of his goals conceded! They passed us off the park from the first whistle but the first 15 minutes of the second we showed that they where vulnerable! The ref was awful, N we mad Lua Lua look good which is a skill in itself the fat ****
I Have never seen a goalkeeper or a player get slaughtered so badly by every single fan it was awful bet he was crying his eyes out, but out of 8 goals conceded since lonners got injured 6 have been his **** ups! hes let more goals in than he has done saves these errors where basic and im telling you now I would do better!
I'm glad its an away game next for the lads after a heavy defeat & I have never said that before. Morning all O'Brien & Kissa to start against the foxes
Morning all, Slightly more sensible debate on this board, even if I can't agree with everything said so far. Last night was clearly very poor. Rachubka was so bad, he may actually never play either for Leeds again, or indeed anyone at this level. This is against the backdrop of people raving about him at the start of the season. Haven't got the time to trawl through all the old posts, but he was considered a good keeper. No idea what went wrong. But as you seem to know everything Jonty, perhaps you can enlighten us all. Sunday v Leicester: Now even I'm worried. Unless they have a behind closed doors, no holds barred exchange of views & there emerges the same us against the world spirit engendered by Wise at the start of the -15 season, Sunday has the potential to make last night look like a decent result. Whether SG makes wholesale changes or not, I don't know. We know Lees isn't available, & it is likely the O'Dea might not be either. Kisnorbo will start, but who with? Rumour has it that AOB has been impressing in training & that the only reason he was so bad at the start of the season was that he wasn't fit. SG admitted yesterday that he got the decision to play him against Southampton wrong. Good of him to put his hands up. Pity it was so embarassing to watch at the time. Who plays in goal? Clearly not Rachubka. Is it fair to play Cairns in the current circumstances? Not sure, but is there anyone available via the loan market? Don't know. What to do about the midfield? Difficult one, as there are so many permutations. But I think Nunez in the centre behind 2 strikers with Howson taking a break maybe the best option. White/Pugh down the left, with Snoddy/Connolly down the right. Not sure what's gone wrong with the McC. goal machine. Probably time to brink Becchio back to start. Whatever SG does, there has to be a big reaction to last night, & we clearly have to start in the same vein as a non league side would do in their cup final against a top league side; all blood & thunder, pressure, pressure, pressure. Last night was our low water mark. Song of the day: Things can only get better!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pity I'm sitting with the Leicester fans on Sunday, as a Leicester mate of mine got me a ticket. Really hope we extract a collective digit, as its a long drive back to London if STF (my mate) is able to crow over another poor result for us. Keep the faith, get behind the team, MOT
Elland' apart from the goalie not being quite mobile enough, are you proposing a 442 with Mika & Clayton having a holding role allowing Sam & Snoddy to work the flanks?
