Which is exactly the point I made, so thanks for confirming it. What’s puzzling is your insistence that it somehow has any bearing on the form over the last 7 games, from which we have 7 points.

Not irrelevant. Depends on how much you’re banking on us improving.

Statistically speaking you would be foolish to bet on a complete U turn based on those results.

You can’t just ignore form because we have a few new signings.

7 points from 7 games is NOT relegation form.

You are aware that team was virtually the same team that lined up against Chelsea? The one difference was Lavia for Djenepo. Now, I'm not saying he selected the right team but those players did do the business 2 games before the Villa game.

Particularly against the teams we've played.

Yes we beat Chelsea but i've been uninspired generally by our football this season and the Villa performance was particularly worrying, it doesn't take much for us to lose confidence go on a bad run under Ralph.
Like I say, i'm giving him until the WC but we simply can't play like we did last friday night.

Every game starts as 0-0, every game is a chance to win. You can ignore from and say “I think we will go undefeated for the whole season”. You might be right, we could.

But form is used to predict outcomes and if you do that you will be correct more often than you are wrong.

So although we have signed some good players I predict that from will not improve significantly over a season with Ralph in charge, based on previous form. We might improve a bit, but we will still be in the relegation mix.

Taking emotion out of the equation you have to see where I’m coming from? He’s been here since 2018 and I don’t see any suggestion he is the man to turn it around.

This is not what I want to happen, it’s what I expect.

If you are a little upset about that table you must have gone effing bananas when we got relegated from the Championship <laugh>

It’s in the mix though. 38 games, 38 points. We would be unlucky but it’s closer than we want.

I did. Those were dark times, to which I don’t want to return.

We battered Leicester in the 2nd half, we were excellent against United we just couldn't score, superb against Chelsea and came back from 2 goals down against Leeds. Not sure how those games were uninspiring TBH and that's over half the league games played.

One of my concerns is that previously when we played very well, we often won. Of course when we played badly we were soundly beaten.

More recently when we play well, we still usually lose. Not even draw. And of course when we’re **** we invariably lose.

Im not sure why this is, it can’t just be luck. But it keeps fans clinging to the idea that good results will come.

It's funny what people see isn't it.

I see a team that has been improved, much of the dead wood have gone and exciting young players have been brought in.

The manager was backed with not only players but a shiny new coaching staff.

A few matches ago, everyone was waxing lyrical about the coaches being a good influence on Ralph, people who could tell him what was needed rather than a load of yes men GKs.

Everyone was saying how every new signing who had featured in most games, had hit the ground running and were vast improvements on the previous players.

We have already played Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea and got 3 points, how many teams will be able to say that this year?

After a couple of losses, 2 of which could have gone either way and 1 which was just a bad day at the office, people are returning to their negative ways. I want us to win as much as the next person but surely we give these players(mostly young players, some of which with very little real experience in a league as tough as this) a reasonable amount of time to gel and we should be commending them on achieving 7 points from 7 games?

Bloody good going TBH, they should feel proud. Losing Lavia is a tough one to take, especially as we had already agreed to let Ori go, but we just have to continue with the hand we are dealt. I am confident that we will improve and as we do, the confidence in these young fearless players will grow.

There is literally no point looking at the form prior to this season, completely pointless!

Things have changed dramatically behind the scenes and the squad has had a refresh, let's give them time to show what they can do, I am sure more good times are on the horizon.

It seems literally down to an utterly abysmal display against Villa. And it was awful. I watched it and it was the first time I really understood the term "nearly made my eyes bleed". Probably didn't help that it was televised so more people than usual saw it. But that result seems to have made people absolutely lose even the tiniest amount of perspective. I appreciate that if those games become too frequent we are in trouble. But worth actually giving it some games to see they do really. Rather than losing our heads after the one

I didn't see the Wolves game but they got a lucky goal that bobbled in and tricked the keeper. Were it not for that a point there would be a very good result. Man United scored a great goal but otherwise did not outplay us.

What is being underestimated here is how few managers survive takeovers. That Sport Republic chose to keep him seems telling. It is not like Chelsea where they had no continuity at all (and no football experience) so kept Tuchel on - but then sacked him rapidly anyway. They look to have chosen to keep him specifically
