Maybe it would help if he was playing on the RW so he could cross on his better foot. I don't understand why Eddie keeps playing Almiron RW and Fraser LW. Put them on the opposition wings so they can cross on their better foot because they obviously cannot score for ****,.
Yeah, I think that is one of Roly's bugbears, playing wingers on the wrong sides, so they typically have to either check back, or cut inside onto their best foot. Instead of just getting around their man and crossing from their good side. Basically kills momentum.
Precisely this. You're either an "Inside Forward" who brings the ball forward at pace arrowing towards goal (ASM, Neymar, Sterling) or you're a winger. You cant magically create inside forwards by swapping wingers sides. I posted about Almiron having more toucher in the oppo box than any other players outside the top 6. Why does he have this? Because he ALWAYS checks back, which means he's going to have double what our other players will have simply because he takes a second touch. For me, until we actually have Inside Forwards - buying Diaby, for example - we have to play these bog-standard wide players on their strongest side. Then you have to reconsider having 3 up top, because that puts us more in a 4-5-1. That formation is too back-foot. So we have to go to 4-2-3-1, because Isak will need support from midfield. In a nutshell, pick the formation to suit the players so we stop relying on miracles.
Don't worry, I know that Bruno, Isak, Wilson and ASM are injured, but we still have Murphy, Wood, Almiron & Fraser, so it will all be fine, don't pani... wait... WAIT! Wait for meeeeeeeeeee
