I'm not one to give advice especially in situations like this. I've had over 100 jobs and walked out of around a dozen, some because of an offhand remark from the boss. I once asked to skip the monthly manager's meeting to see us play Sheff Utd at home and the MD refused. I went anyway. We won 6-2, went top on GD, Alex Sabella was incredible for them and Siddall saved a last minute penalty to keep us top. I was sacked the next morning got another job a day later and refused to take back my company car. By the time I surrendered it, basically leaving it at a garage 150 miles away, me and the lads had been to about twenty matches in it. To answer your question I've never regretted leaving, always been lucky finding another job and know that, once you've lost the plot you never get it back.

I just think I am at a part in my life where I cant be arsed to start over again, I wont regret leaving and the place will continue without me. Its that feeling of not knowing whats coming, I have always had an idea of what I am going into and belief in my ability to succeed. A new line of work if I can get it takes me out of my comfort zone. Not knowing what I want to do is the hard part.
I’m risk averse by nature, you know your own situation but if I was giving advice to my kids it would be to stick it out until you have a suitable job to go to, it’s no good cutting your nose off to spite your face. I was in a very similar situation to you a few years ago. I had a couple of fall outs with one particular manager, mainly over operational matters and he set out to try to make life difficult for me. I had 30 years experience and he was a fast track graduate so he had no chance. I managed to increase my salary for a year and then retire on a much better pension. It pissed him off because he knew exactly what I was doing and he couldn’t do anything about it. In a months time with a couple of job offers your situation could look completely different and new paths open to you. Good luck whatever you decide and remember the adage - Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer.

Not quite the same but ended up being made redundant (my choice as i felt betrayed after 27 years) Took some time off and chose a totally different career path. Love what i'm doing now and being able to actually help people who deserve it nad giving it the big'un to those who don't

When asked what he's been doing the last year Watching interviews about out football, reading about football. Painting and decorating, Golf. I don't mind golf, don't like decorating even though I'm pretty good at it. I've got some houses, so I'm a professional landlord, I'm and excellent landlord. The word I took from that is.... Knacker.
Kept it off the Queen thread as it’s just a bit of an aside , but as I said I’m fascinated by the organisation and logistics of such an event , and so wonder on strange little points. Do the thousands who were involved who had to get ready , get to their location , wait for hours etc get advice on how not to need the toilet ? When their bit is over , is there a mad dash to countless portaloos that we don’t see on camera? What if a choirboy falls ill at the last minute- do they have a spare one waiting in the vestry , or do they just manage with ten men ?
Decided to watch Sunderland til I die again. Same club, same leauge (Championship) absolutely night and day. Few things I took from it so for after watching it a second time. The editing is terrible, score a goal at a day lit Fratton park, shows fans celebrating in a floodlight lit Stadium of light. Go one nill down to Derby, chorus of defying Boos when in reality that wasnt the case. One thing that is different this time around, is the fans. There was clearly a demand we are promoted straight away, every other interview was "We need to get back to the Premiership (Premier Leauge). Alot of the players just weren't arsed and that was clear from a mile away. Now, we're embracing youth players, no demands for promotion, different ownership. It was even at the point in 2017 that the home kit was an abomination, little things like that.
