Watched Boro v Cardiff on hesgoals. A good game and a great result for Bluebirds. Puts the first game of the season in perspective.
That's 6 wins in a row following the Bristol game. Even so it's clear we're not the finished product yet but are NCFC fans starting to take these winning runs for granted, even finding things to moan about during these success streaks? Enjoy them while they last I say.
Quite the unhealthy hate fixation you have with Kenny, he's been one of our better performing players in multiple positions even filling in as emergency left back
Please stop attributing views and attitudes to me which I don't hold or have. And when have I disputed that McLean is "one of our better performing players"? I haven't, any more than I've dened that Hanley is one of our top performing players. My opinion on both can be accurately summed up by saying I don't want to see either of them in the starting eleven for our next fixture in the EPL.
Nobody mentioned Hanley. It's a chicken and egg situation , if Hanley and McLean were removed from the squad I doubt Norwich would gain promotion this season . You clearly don't rate them despite Hanley retaining the arm band and a firm favourite of Dean Smith based on good performances alongside Omobamidele. Both managers clearly rate the pair even if you don't
Do you actually bother to read the posts you're commenting on Duncan? Might be a good idea to do that, don't you think?
How very condescending of you again . You don't want to see McLean or Hanley in the team if we are promoted . No matter how well they perform this season as you have written them off years ago and can't cope with being proven wrong .
You wouldn’t want our top performing players in the team?? No offence but that is one of the dumbest things I’ve seen written here, and there is quite stiff competition… The worst thing we could do if we get promoted is buy 8-10 first team players. Firstly, a club like ours doesn’t have the money, and secondly it would disrupt the team ethos. It’s totally unrealistic to expect us to upgrade our entire first team on promotion, especially the top players. And let’s face it, they’re heavily favoured by Smith as they are his style of spine players, so they’re going nowhere soon.
Anyone in Australia and using any of the EFL streaming services? I have had it with terrible links so was thinking of signing up to BeIN sports free 2 week trial then maybe getting a month (up until the world cup break) to see what it is like.
Cardiff City have sacked manager Steve Morison with the Bluebirds 18th in the Championship after 10 games. The former Wales international took charge of the first team after Cardiff sacked Mick McCarthy in October 2021. Morison brought in 17 new players during the summer, but Cardiff have won just three league matches, losing 1-0 to Huddersfield most recently.
https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwic...ational-dimi-giannoulis-injury-update-9282728 Giannoulis targeting mid-October to be back in the squad. Hanley and Omobamidele have pulled out of international squads through injury.
Good. Can't risk either of them aggravating their injuries in one of these never ending, nonsensical, boring International gadabouts. Same applies to Aarons and McLean - we will be in a right muddle at full back if either of them gets injured.
Núñez has been an unexpected bonus from this summer's window. We expected a quality DM (Hayden) and a quality AM (Sara), but replacing Lees-Melou with Núñez has already made a huge difference. Having upgraded our midfield with his dribbling, passing and defending, he's still only 22, but looks much older, so should progress even further this season. Both Hayden and Sara should also strengthen us both now and if we're promoted and Cantwell looks to be back at his best again. Pukki is still PL class and Sargent looks a hugely improved player this season. IMO our main needs if promoted are a quality left sided CB and a quality left sided CM to compete with McLean, whose versatility makes him a hard player to replace.
To which I would add replacement first-choice full backs. Defensively speaking, neither Max nor Dimi are good enough at the top level, and the same attack-wise, we need more than either of them regularly provide. Bali and Sam might reach the required level, but have a long way to go as yet.
Yes, I did think about the FBs, but I think Aarons and Byram are good enough at RB. Giannoulis is also good enough alongside a quality left-footed CB, but this season will tell us more about McCallum once he's fit again. I'm not keen on spreading the budget over too many players. Real quality at CB and CM are the priorities and that will cost big money.
