I can agree with that I think they're all called politicians and i would never separate one from the other regardless of the rosette.
Have you ever watched Our Friends In The North? I binged it over the weekend. It was written decades ago and the series came out 26 years ago charting a period pf 36 yrs going back to the 60's. And every politically cynical thing highlighted in it (for both parties tbf) was almost word for word the same as it is today. And I'm not talking about the typical stereotypical stuff but much more nuanced.
I only have Sky so miss a lot. Often wonder why i am paying £100 a month for a provider which i only watch about 6 of 400+ channels. and really it's only for the sports. May join the modern world and get Amazon and Netflix one day and kick Sky into touch since i spend as much time watching streams for games.
Putin has declared the mobilisation of around 300,000 Russian citizens. Tickets out of Moscow are now sold out, following massive price spikes. Not sure that's what he meant.
New Labour didn’t wait for the twin towers to be destroyed before burying bad news...they simply took advantage of the situation...it was appallingly anti democratic and cynical then and remains so You got it the wrong way round. Politicians released information when the Queen died knowing it wouldn't get much attention. That's what the issue is
It takes me back to my teenage years bumming around Europe on Inter Rail. Everywhere i went, there were young lads dodging national service, from Austria, Sweden and the like and the odd escapee from countries behind the Iron Curtain. The difference...? They objected to wearing a uniform, playing at soldiers and just maybe, just maybe having to fight. They weren't imminently about to die in Ukraine at the hands of people with whom they have no quarrel at all. I'm surprised that it has taken this long for some to get the hell out. I'd have gone pretty much at the outset.
A lot of them will have been hearing the misinformation about a short, special operation. Won't have been expecting the 3 day invitational to involve them. Poor ****ers.
From Mrs B's Russian friend, those who aren't Putin supporters will have had a fairly good idea that Ukraine wasn't full of fascists and an enemy to Russia. Their lack of action was more in hope than anything else. I really get that the pull of home is strong, Mrs B's mate has probably seen her mum for the last time, certainly her Putin supporting father. When she'll see her brother again, who knows? Maybe it's in the genes to move on, I'm the descendant of 3 immigrant grandparents. I love London but this government is pushing me to go.
