On your point about Naismith, I think this might be something he is being encouraged to do at City. My company is based in St Albans, and we had our annual golf day on Friday. I got talking to 2 Luton Season Ticket holders, and they asked how he was getting on. When I explained the areas he has been found wanting, they said that was not at all how he played at Luton. They said he was a very effective LCB/LB and didn't try and play as much extravagant football out from the back. Maybe the Luton setup curtailed his natural game, or he is being encouraged to adapt to the style NP wants us to play.
Thought it might be worthy of mention.

To be fair to Nige, many of us (myself in particular) have been screaming for us to play attacking football , not sit back and try and defend - and when it works it’s beautiful to watch. Before Conway and Semenyo were playing regularly and Martin was up front, we were criticised for ‘lumping balls forward’ to Martin all the time (ironically that’s also when Weimann was scoring for fun).
Most of Naismiths mistakes have been playing hospital balls across the defence which are easily intercepted. The other notable mistake was letting the ball bounce for Pukki to score. Those mistakes I believe CAN be trained out of him but he needs to have a better awareness of where the opposition is when making his decisions of what to do - whether to look for the clever pass across the pitch or just simply hoof it out of danger.
He seems to be an attack-minded player which is great, but if you don’t note where the opposition is then mistakes are going to happen.

Just a thought, what ever happened to all of those, hamstring, soft tissue and muscle injuries we used to suffer from, don't want to tempt fate but constant times they used to affect our players seems to have disappeared.

Remember these dreadful days of our recent past ~
Bristol City have the worst injury problems in the top two tiers of English football according to research undertaken by Bristol Live.

    Current senior squad injuries/missing players:

    • Callum O'Dowda, out for 10-12 weeks with a hamstring injury
    • Jay Dasilva, shin complaint may leave him on the sidelines for much of the rest of the season
    • Jamie Paterson, hip injury has led to surgery - out for 3-4 weeks
    • Nathan Baker, hamstring tear and out for several weeks still
    • Steven Sessegnon, hamstring tear and yet to return
    • Andi Weimann, ACL injury
    • Liam Walsh, yet to play this season after quad injury last summer
    • Joe Williams, thigh and hamstring injuries meant he has yet to make his debut
    • Opi Edwards, calf strain picked up in training
    • Kasey Palmer, had a positive COVID-19 test and unavailable
    • Aden Baldwin, hamstring tear
    • + Chris Brunt, released from his contract early after calf injury

I certainly do remember them. I don't think it was ever established WHY our injuries were so numerous - but it must have been either to do with training methods or poor medical treatment.
I believe Williams made a rather outspoken comment on it.........

good see a price guide published! Transfermarkt is a guide I started doing a comparison check on PUBLISHED then ACTUAL and vice versa [ it was over a 3 year period ] I took 100 players as a base and then 50 who were not on the list that transferred and were published then on transfermarkt... 47 of the 100 moved 33 were with "the fee" 14 couldnt find it ...50 who moved all had fee's and transfermrkt published their interpretation! ACCURATE? no some a long way off! ALL WERE undervalued by TMkt depending on cost % varied [ £80k would appear at 50 -60k a £7m @ £ 5.5- 6.5 ] I dont have the paper work or DB [cant find on this computer ] it was started about 6 years ago stopped in 2020.

    Alex Scott - £5.40m sell him ? ... IMO £8m+
    Han-Noah Massengo - £3.60m
Andreas Weimann - £2.25m ... should we sell him IMO would be £4m+
    Daniel Bentley - £2.25m
    Tomas Kalas - £2.25m
    Jay Dasilva - £2.25m ... sell him? IMO £3.5m+
    Antoine Semenyo - £2.25m ... have so far been "offered??? ££9m + IMO £15
    Zak Vyner - £1.62m ... imo sell him? £5m+
    Stefan Bajic - £1.62m
    Nahki Wells - £1.35m
    Rob Atkinson - £1.35m
    Kal Naismith - £900k
    Matty James - £900k
    Joe Williams - £720k
    Chris Martin - £450k
    Mark Sykes - £450k
Cameron Pring - £450k really! was better last season but would still be IMO £2m+
Tommy Conway - £450k probably at the mo the biggest "error" IMO £5M+
    Max O’Leary - £315k
    Kane Wilson - £315k
Andy King - £270k ... probably not worth that if sold would be free / released?
    Timm Klose - £270k
    George Tanner - £270k
    Ayman Benarous - £270k
    Harvey Wiles-Richards - £135k
    Sam Bell - £90k .. at least IMO £ 250k
I don't know how they base their valuations, they "seemed" so erratic! only thing that would make a difference is rate of exchange ..... then only 3-5%

Good on the kid, and long may it continue until such time as he outgrows us and we get many millions for him when we sell to a Premiership club.

Let’s hope NP isn’t forced to sell off the next batch of the family jewels. I suspect he will though at some point.

Now Weimann is not being played in the ridiculous RWB role (what was NP thinking..),and allowed to play up top, or just in behind, he’s showing how good he is. He’s probably not getting as many chances since Wells & Conway have been partnering well

City academy coach charged by FA for breaching betting rules
Former Bristol City academy coach Gary Powell, who left the club just 10 days ago, has been charged by the Football Association for breaching betting rules.

Powell joined the Robins having previously served as assistant manager for Paulton Rovers and worked with the Under-15 and Under-16 squads. There has been no official confirmation of his departure from the High Performance Centre.

Powell is alleged to have placed 62 bets on matches between February 4, 2018 and July 11, 2021 and was charged under FA Rule E8 - Misconduct under FA Rule E1(b) on September 1, and was given until September 7 to provide a response.

The FA are yet to confirm whether or not Powell has accepted or will challenge the charge, which could lead to a suspension from football and/or fine, if found guilty.
