Following Dan Burns controversial comments post match on Saturday I thought it would be interesting to hear what people's hopes are for the season ?

I personally think nufc will flirt with relegation and finish around 11th again.

I'd give newcastle an outside chance of winning a cup If howe gets a Bruce draw and injuries are avoided.

I think we have to finishing top ten with the amount of money that has been spent over the last 2 windows. Anything less and it's very disappointing for me, unless we get to the latter stages of one of the cups.

Would people be happy with a cup run to a semi and say 12th or 13 th?.

First. Why enter if we’re happy to settle for less?

I think so, Eddie won't be under pressure from the owners anyway.

You said 11th and an "outside chance" of a cup, Schlem said top 4 = CL.
So yeah, I think Schlem is being more positive.

So you'd rather be in the champions league than win a cup?

Look, I can see you want to start one of your arguments.

    The facts:

You said we'd flirt with relegation, finish 11th and have an outside chance of a cup.

    Schlem said Top 4

You then said you were being the most optimistic.

I disagree. I think saying we'll finish top 4 is more optimistic than flirting with relegation, finishing 11th and having an outside chance of a cup.

Now if you're prepared to say that we WILL win a cup then I might agree you are being the most optimistic. But you didn't commit.

    LOL. That ain't happening.

We're nowhere near first gear yet, and we're comfortably in 10th, and we've only lost one match, and we should be in 7th as we should have been given the Palace win.

7th, with an outside chance of 6th.

Other clubs will say the same mate, but 11th I feel is was more realistic than 6th or 7th?

Why? Like I said we're 10th already and should be 7th because of the Palace VAR decision.

Just cos we've made a slow start compared to last season's finish doesn't mean we'll flirt with relegation.

If we're comfortably in the top 10 already and with only 1 game lost, despite not really finding form yet, we ain't gonna struggle. The Man City and Liverpool performances show we can clearly compete with the best, last couple of games dissappointing, but certainly nothing to make anyone say we're going to struggle or flirt with relegation.

Because there's too many better teams fur newcastle to come 6th. You've got the big 6 just for starters and there's better sides outside it than ours at the point imo anyway.

Saying we're comfortably in the top 10 is a tad much given there's 4 points seporating 10th to 18th and the league table isn't worth looking at until November.

I said 11th mate it's hardly a ridiculous prediction is it? Many are saying mid table.

We finished 11th last year mate. Do you not think we should expect even a few places higher based on the money spent this summer?
