Your explanation is irrelevant because I just shows you don't understand the difference in two statements. What you've done is make a mistake a mistake that lead to a false assertion being levelled at someone. Roland was very clear.. he said all summer we needed a rw and an cm.
Yes the full picture 200 million spend, better everything but not winning games and scoring goals still the problem. Why is it no longer acceptable for people to highlight the same issues ? Nobody ever said anything about 5 more signings or finishing top half overnight. They simply highlighted some issues that need addressing and you said they had argued on entirely separate fronts
Clearly beyond you then. That's okay. You keep highlighting part of the picture and I'll keep highlighting all of the picture.
You're not this stupid so we both know you're just switching to the wind up phase rather than accepting you made a false claim on someone's position. Once a person has refused to accept when it's brought to their attention they've gone too far and when backed into a corner they start switching to secondary arguments in an attempt to distract and escape. You'll take note that I'm not insulting your intelligence but you are insulting mine which is the 1st indication of a defeated person in any debate.. look that up if you don't believe me.
Anyway the points in the bag and the old issues are still very much present. 32 points to go on target so far.... just . Every game is tough, but nufc fans have started have started expect to win games down to arrogance and a lack of awareness towards the quality of other sides. Is there an easy game? A game any group of fans should 'expect 'to win in the Premierleague?
When we are going for top 4 i will be disappointed with this sort of result, as it is this season we are in transition and will be midtable anyway, so i don't see the point in getting that down about it. This season is all about the league cup and FA Cup for us, we could do something in one off games and if we get decent ties.
Absolutely mate that's years off and I think people are going into games with an over inflated opinion on the sides ability . This season is about trying consolidate the clubs position in the league and adding the foundations. I would expect next season they'll begin to reach for top 10 .
No false claim. No wind up. You're quite right you are switching to secondary arguments and attempting to distract and escape. You are insulting my intelligence by pretending not to see and follow the logic. And, in any event, an indication is not fact. I'll happily insult anyone whether I'm winning or losing an argument. Still not answered my two questions by the way.
I think Howe has always been a lower table prem manager. There’s no denying he surprised a lot of people, myself included when he managed to get the performances last season out of you guys. But atm it’s looking like he was massively helped by the feel good factor from the fans and players by the takeover. In same way new manager often gets good results right away from new manager bounce, seem to be the same for owners and then rode on that feel good factor to the end of the season. He’s obviously not helped by fact that yes some of those players just aren’t good enough. But you haven’t lost anyone important this summer, and you’ve only added better players so comparing this season to results from when he took over with a better team and squad isn’t great.
The burden of proof is always is with the person making the claim and you haven't demonstrated that anyone said newcastle needed to sign 5 more players this summer You can't demonstrate it because it didn't happen folders.
I always value the views from fans without their black and white goggles on and i think you're probably spot on with this
There is a huge difference between this season's start and last season's start. Last season the players were nowhere near fit enough. They were gassing after 20 minutes. Jamal Lascelles being the absolute worst of the lot. The players had tactically no ****ing idea what they were meant to be doing or positionally where the **** they should be standing. Matt Ritchie and Ciaran Clark being the prime examples of this. We had 2 goalkeepers who everything went through like they were casper the friendly ghost (see Karl Darlow and Freddy Woodman) Our tactic at this stage of last season was hit it long and out left for Maxi and hope to God he can run past everyone and somehow score a goal whilst praying we could survive without the opposition getting a shot on target or someone hitting a pass back to our keeper too hard. Our problem is teams are currently playing with 9 men behind the ball against us and ****housing their way through games (Like we have done since Rafa came) and we aren't used to having to try and break teams down like this. I didn't think we needed a cm in the summer as that area of the pitch had been strengthened in recent windows however I felt we really needed a rw. I'll hold my hands up to this as quite frankly Joe Willock is utter **** currently. If someone had offered us to have lost once having played Man City, Liverpool, Brighton away and Wolves away and that we'd be pissing and moaning that we never managed to find a way through against Palace (goal chalked off) or Bournemouth (hit the woodwork twice) I would have snapped their hands off. End of the day - I demanded a team that tries not a team that wins
Yes but if it was'nt for VAR we would be about 5th 6th in the table and would'nt be having this discussion, simples
Steve Bruce would've had wins last season if VAR hadn't shafted nufc. It's really people drawing comparisons while ignoring the balance of the comparison. This manager and this group of players is being afforded an understanding and excuses the previous manager and side wasn't this time last year. I would say results are ok, but the cracks are there for everyone to see....some are simply pointing them out which is fine provided they credit when it's due .
You're wrong. Last year at this stage we (the fans) went to games praying we might nick something having watched the dogshit that was being served up. This year we are going to games believing we can win and win well. We haven't played bad, there isn't any cracks. Yes there is areas that need improved on and will be over time. I just think disappointment clouds judgement at times with regards the bigger picture. I was gutted we never won yesterday. Thought we should have smashed them, but that initial reaction has since gone and its now more clear that we dominated a game and just couldn't break them down. As others have said. this happens its football.
This season. 1. Narrow contentious defeat at Liverpool. 2. Lost once, five draws and one win in first seven games. 3. Draw at home to City. 4. Draw away to Brighton. Last season. 1. Lost 3-1 at Liverpool 2. Four defeats, three draws, no wins in first seven games. 3. Lost 4-0 at home to City 4. Draw away to Brighton. First seven games under Howe 2. Two defeats, four draws, one win in first seven games. So where exactly is Howe doing worse? Believe it or not 7 other Clubs spent more than us in the summer. Howe is a very good coach/manager. He showed this with what he did for most of his time at Bournemouth and his initial period with us. To describe him as a lower table PL manager when he’s never had the chance to manage higher is a bit condescending towards him. We are in a transitional period at present but even being able to say that is a plus in comparison to the previous regime. Our journey will be bumpy and far from smooth but it will still well be enjoyable for most fans.
