As far as Shota is concerned I am starting to feel that maybe he is beginning to doubt himself at the job at hand. Even though according to Baz at HDM he has been given time to turn things around, I just wonder whether he may decide to walk. He obviously cherishes Acun's friendship and trust in him, but might just decide to step aside, if he feels the job is too big for him. For what it is worth, Baz feels personally he will go according to his tweet. As far as the game goes, I have to say the 2nd half performance once they scored was worrying. We seemed to lose confidence, and the mistakes for goals 2 & 3 were comical, to say the least. Coyle is steady, but feel in time Christie will be better at right back. Fleming is close to a return, but to be fair Elder yesterday was one of our better performers. Figgy just isn't good enough, he might have been okay as a first-change bencher at Forest, but playing week in and week out he is just not consistent enough. We need to bring in a big imposing centre back, similar to Faye type to go alongside Greaves. Having said that, the midfield is where our main problem is still, as it was last season and is again this term. The balance is all wrong, we need a Smallwood-type player alongside Seri, a box-to-box midfielder similar to Honeyman, as at present we are just too lightweight and teams just press the life out of us. In addition, I don't think you can play Tufan and Pelkas at the same time, they are both similar, and are not used to the intensity of the Championship. What's needed now is a couple of good results, and things will look a lot different. To some degree, this is how I expected the early part of the season to be, but we got off to a much better start than expected, so maybe expectations grew too much.
We’ve had good performances though that were blighted by the subs we had to make but yeah this was always going to happen eventually
Watched this several times now and I still can't see why Figs went down. As one comment said, it's like he took a dive not realising it was Baxter, rather than one of theirs, that (at the most) brushed his heel. So much for our "hard as nails" new CB who even headbuts advertising hoardings.
Figs does what a lot of said on here for years they feel a touch and go down Backfired this time but WTF was Baxter doing he was nowhere near the ball Why was he in that side of figs? Why didn’t he dive in front of figs onto the ball? Not brave enough!? Bizarre positioning?
I think he was expecting Figs to leave it to him. But, having made the decision to go, he surely should have just claimed the ball even if that meant clattering Figs. Both at fault, but the original point was why the heck did Figs fall. A dive?
Doesn’t Baxter clip his ankle which made him kick his other ankle and trip , still calamitous and comical but I don’t think he dives over
I know football's a different beast now and nothing really counts unless you are tippy tapping about but whatever happened to 'if in doubt, kick it out?
you could be excused for thinking that Figs had 3 0 on his coupon and was crapping himself at only 1 0
