If we're being completely honest he was being hammered well before the 14th. Howes got the fans support and the win vs forest so he's got some rope , but If this continues for another 3 games he'll start coming under pressure. Things could go either way at this point, but I don't think the club did enough to help him this summer in fwd areas. 1 or 2 short .
I lost count of the times we all said we needed a RW and a midfielder. How many of us knew Almiron would be how he always is once pre season was gone? How many of us said Fraser, Murphy, Longstaff and Wood should be nowhere near the pitch? Things have to improve because I doubt anyone in Saudi is particularly impressed so far. If these draws turn to losses - which looks more likely than turning them into wins - he’s going to be under pressure, quickly.
I think we all knew and I don't think anyone expected to still be seeing the same **** players playing every week, but that's the reality . The question in my mind is why? Has howe refused players in favour of the likes of Fraser? Did the club just say no we can't afford others or was or both? This squad is piss poor ..... it took only 3 games for it to be exposed and anyone thinking it'll be OK when they get players back needs to understand this is an all season issue ...players will always be missing
So where exactly was the money coming from to buy five replacements bearing in mind the players we did buy in the two windows already and still stay within the FFP rules?
We needed a RW and a CM, not 5. Aaransen (£22m to Leeds) and Palinha (£20m to Fulham) would have made a huge difference.
Why 5 and where have you got your calculations from? Ultimately there's better player out there it wouldn't take much time find a more effective player than the ****e he listed. Is it the players or the manager? I'm getting confused these days because last season it was all down to managers. It seems fine to be critical based on previous seasons
Just for context - we are just 4 points better off than this time last year. Make of that what you will but “not good enough” would be my summation.
This is bullshit from someone who doesn’t get football. This “style” which helped last season has remained static and is now predictable. You need to have the ability to change in a game and we didn’t/couldn’t. Howe is responsible for believing these dreadful players can be coached into becoming Man City.
Oh don't tell them that because they'd forced to question whether Bruce wasn't given any money or rope at this stage last season . Howe isn't going to be the guy based on what I'm seeing so far...The lift he provided has ended and now he's realising he's got the same crap previous manager had to rely on when injuries occurred. The only advantage howe has is the fans support... they'll make excuses for him that they never afforded Bruce.

Let's be honest and It's something I mentioned on here at the time that fans weren't fair when it came to Bruce. If Bruce won It wasn't entertaining or it was just luck.. no credit was afforded to the bloke ever during his reign... he was crap manager but what I just said is true.. Howe It's the opposite he'll get his arse licked win lose or draw... excuses will be afforded to him and credit given when it's not deserved
I keep saying it. But read Roly’s posts. This time I’m making it easier for you. Count how many players in his post above who have all played this season that he wants nowhere near the pitch. That means they need replacing in the 25 man squad.
He never said we needed 5 he said we needed a rw and another cm all summer. What he's done is list 5 useless players and you've created the assertion he wanted all 5 replaced our of thin air mate Anyway look I do think criticism is unfair provided it's consistent and fair.
It's true though.... if you look other people are comparing the situation to last season ie to Bruce. Nothing wrong with comparisons , but let's do it fairly.
I don’t know much about the two you’ve mentioned but we were after Diaby who seems a better player. Why waste money on players who are possibly a level below what you’re aiming for who you then might want rid of in a year or two as opposed to spending it on players you want at the level you want. We simply can’t get rid of all the rubbish we have acquired and replace them in two windows. It takes time. With the exception of Wood who would you not have bought that we have bought?
