Seems a bit harsh asking him to take a timeout, when it's just a bloke stating his opinion? The very essence of a forum. You may well disagree with it, but to ask him to take a step back is uncalled for.
Just a suggestion. I've done enough ranting in the past to know when taking half an hour to maybe grab some fresh air or something is a good idea. But he's free to do as he chooses.
A timeout. No thanks Tom.. how bad do we have to get before you criticise Ralph? I think we will be in league one by the time you say a bad word about him
As a moderator isn’t this the opposite of what you should be doing? Requesting someone stop posting because you don’t agree with them.
I notice Bayern Munich also suffered a 1-0 away loss this weekend - to Augsburg. And I bet their fans had less of a meltdown!
No, but they've only picked up 5 more points than us this season, having played the same amount of games.
The mistake you have made is seeing the term “moderator” and then going into tunnel vision mode and assumed it is some kind of tyrannical demand / attempted censorship (which I know is a touchy subject in the online world) Rather than just one poster quipping at another because they believe they are talking absolute nonsense. Or at least going a bit over the top. And it was a bit over the top. Aribo didn’t start because he apparently didn’t train all week. Mara is very inexperienced and was never going to start in away premier league match so soon.
Osvaldorama is f*cking pissed off, and it's totally understandable. A lot of us are. And it's because we see a lot of talent in this squad. It's been a long time since any of us have felt proud of this football team, and we quite clearly have the players now who could be doing it. It is infuriating. Tom's defence of Ralph is bloody admirable. Mad respect to you for that, mate. It must be like swimming against the tide arguing with a lot of us on here. Bottom line is, you're both very passionate. Most of us are. And we all want the same thing. But yes, the occasional thirty minute break from this forum for some fresh air, is definitely required sometimes.
As Greg said Aribo didn’t start because he didn’t train all week. Mara is very inexperienced and was never going to start in away premier league match so soon. Add AMN getting up to speed and fitness and you get the background that's good to have when forming opinions. We've got Rinners, Routers, Doubters and Ranters, all welcome to the table.
I did criticise Ralph on Friday. I said he got it totally wrong. I still believe he's the right manager for us but I have criticised him when he's got it wrong. But if you look at the 7 games as a whole from this season, it's been ok. Not spectacular but solid, respectable. We've had some tough fixtures to start the season.
There’s no meltdown here or anywhere. There’s frustration & annoyance which is merited. JWP had one of his worst displays ever. Surely that little nugget tells something.
It's more than that TBH. It's the same after one bad game - people screaming for Ralph's head - totally ignoring the fact we've had a reasonable start to the season.
I thought KWP’s comment that “we didn’t put into practice what we’d been training on all week” was worth bearing in mind during the (understandable) criticism of Ralph.
