As I thought, we got rid of Phillips at just the right time - he was becoming a liability City just bought an expensive lemon. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62942128
Sounds like he needs surgery. If he does, that's the World Cup gone. Problem is, we need the ****er to play games and win trophies for us to get all of the add ons.
I did, I just don’t share the joy of him being injured. I accept that we may have sold at the right time but I also don’t wish him ill.
Not sure anyone exactly pleased he’s injured. Just pointing out he’s injury prone. Personally couldn’t care less as he grabbed the money and doesn’t wear the white Of Leeds anymore. I’ve enough to do trying to remember the names of our summer signings
If he really has to have surgery and therefore not able to go to the world cup he could have missed his opportunity to play in a world cup finals. He will be 30 by the time the next one comes around so not impossible but........
In fairness given how little game time he’s had with City he shouldn’t have been in the squad in the first place. Klich was worried about his place with Poland at World Cup cos he was only doing thirty minutes a game with us.
I never got the adulation of phillips. England have a poor midfield and that is the only reason he got picked. Limited pace and still liable to lose concentration and losing his man. Always the defenders fault too.
Phillips is a good player guys. Underrated passer, strong, good tackler and he reads and understands the game really well which is his greatest asset. His limiting factor is, and always has been, is his lack of pace, especially over 5 yards. That's needed in central areas at the top level. City is a good match for his playing style.
He doesn’t do enough step overs and his scoring record is terrible. League one player. That pep fella’s an idiot. We proper mugged city.
