Nobody can tell me that Seri, Woods or Tufan is a replacement for Smallwood. Letting Smallwood go is fair enough but I was waiting all summer for a combative midfielder to come in as the perfect compliment to Tufan and Seri. I’m baffled it never materialised. It has cost us and will continue to cost us all season. Seri and Tufan have quality but their work-rate off the ball is abysmal.

Agreed. Other positions we've let go we've brought in replacements - supposedly a step up in quality but we haven't replaced the Smallwood role at all. It's like they didn't seem to acknowledge at all that sides need a ball winning bastard in midfield to break up play and provide a platform to play from.

All the best teams have a ball-winner in a midfield three. Man City have Rodri and previously Fernandinho, Barça had Busquets breaking up play to allow Iniesta and Xavi to do their magic. Arsenal had Vieira.

You can’t play three central midfielders and not have a physical grafter whose job it is to break up play, win tackles, intercept the ball and provide a springboard for the more creative midfielders as one of them. As we can all plainly see now, which I always said in pre-season, this midfield is weak and static off the ball and teams can walk through us.

I'm not going to get into a bun fight with you.... A) it aint going to happen and B) if your choice happened by the time we got a manager sorted we would be without a paddle. Dawson is part of the problem... its a collective problem....

One major weakness is we do not have one quick player in the squad do we? Unless Sinik turns out to be . How can you attack on the break with no pace and expect anything . Watched Leicester agin Spurs and like last nights match passed it around forever at times - it seems everyone is doing it - we are crap at it tho’

A minor annoyance, but why on Sky Sports scores app, does it say Swansea City, but not Hull City?

He back-heels Baxter and dives like he's been fouled.

Why does Shota insist on playing Figs? he's been in terrible form recently. It doesnt really send out a positive message to the rest of the squad that you can have shocker after shocker and still get picked.

Are they good? Actually, I've just witnessed (ie suffered) a rerun of the match at the inlaws.. A Malet Lambert XI would have run City close.

    Barmby and Dawson in asap.

Because the core of his business interests are in the entertainment world with average no ones competing to become starlets - his is the business of raw emotions and chances to make dreams come true - unfortunately he, knowingly or unknowningly, applied the same raw hunger of these wannabees to himself in his quest to fulfill his own personal dream - business acumen was sidelined. Hopefully the painful and embarassing sharp shock of the last few weeks will jolt him back into business mode - fire Shota, find a replacement, steady the ship and start again without all the fanfare, learn what it is to be successful in this league rather than dreaming of the league above. Employ a manager and playing personnel who can communicate comfortably with each other in just one language. Employ a manager who knows what this league is about. If I decided to take a walking holiday in the middle of Turkey with a tour guide who was not familiar with the terrain and had a poor grasp of the language, the outcome is likely to be disastrous.

My mate who supports Grimsby says Andy Smith has been exceptional so far this season.

Get him recalled in January and **** Figueiredo off.
