This is why forums will always have a place in this new age of social media. How a completely random spontaneous post in reference to an old terrace chant can develop into a conversation on veganism and eventually into the value of bull semen. On a thread about the sale of a football club.
It's a bit like a visit to you tube. You go on looking for a rare live video of Joe Strummer and 2 hours later you're watching Nana Moskouri..
Younger ones won’t realise what a big star she was. Released over 200 albums in about a dozen languages. Not my cup of tea but I did like The White Rose Of Athens.
A group led by Bill Foley, majority owner of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights, is in exclusive talks to buy AFC Bournemouth. Maxim Demin's asking price is around £150m, a similar amount to what he has lent in interest-free loans.
Read somewhere that the Efes in supermarkets is brewed here under licence. If it is anything like the Stella brewed here it will be nothing like the real thing. You can get the proper bottles brewed in Turkey in Wetherspoons. Not that keen to try it as to venture in there. A massssive concern to have a tie up with. The likes of Twydale Turkeys have long gone thank heaven.
It blows your mind to think that a club like Bournemouth can be worth 150 mil. In 66 I went to Bournemouth Tech its a nice town not really a City and watched City play them there. It was a draw 1-1 and of course City where promoted that year. Never dreamt that either team would be in Division One as it was known at the time nor believe that City would one day be sold for 30 mil let alone tiny Bournemouth going for 150mil.
Stopped in a converted barn in Settle this week , owner worked for National Grid , got called out overnight Thursday, power line had dropped and killed a bull in a field ! He reckons the farmer will say it’s his prize one , won 3 grand nationals etc LOL
