I didn't think Djenepo was as bad as is being made out btw. Certainly no worse than anyone else. JWP much worse than Djenepo this evening.
But let's not forget a team of seriously knowledgeable and astute football minds have actively chosen to back him and keep him here. That in itself is good enough for me (and I also happen to think he's a very good manager, plus an unarguably interesting one, who about ten other clubs in the PL would gladly have off us).
Not at all. These are the players we all wanted to improve on last season. They're all still here and starting. It's startling really. Yes Djeenepo has played well ... as a LB. He isn't a good enough attacking Midfielder for a PL team. As for Armstrong ... he's been miss as much as been hit this season, but again, there's better on the bench imo.
Some what disgusted with that performance. How can we be so good three weeks ago against Chelsea to compete dog turd tonight. Surely we are not relying on Lavia to run the show for us. What, I watched tonight was horrific, no energy, no drive, passed consistently behind the player. Someone mentioned earlier, where is the high press and the swagger Ralph brought three years ago, maybe those big losses are going to prove fatal, as his game plan now is not playing to his strengths
I agree it's time for Edozie to come in for Armstrong but I can understand why Ralph went with Adam and Moussa tonight. Elyounoussi needs to be dropped now.
I mostly agree, as I said I am not Ralph out. But I expect better and think the criticism is reasonable.
Really well *by their standards*. They wouldn’t get into another PL team. Both are ****e. Why we have Djenepo a new contract I will never know
I disagree with that, both teams were really ****, we deserved to lose, but no way did Villa deserve a big winning margin
It is football. You win some - you lose some FFS. You have good days and bad days just like my life at the moment.
Criticism is fine. It's people who jump straight back onto the Ralph out bandwagon after one bad performance that annoy me. Now, I'm not saying this makes my opinion more valid than others but I've been to every single league game this season apart from tonight. I've seen positives in every game until tonight.
In hindsight, giving Theo that contract has shown itself to be an awful decision. But at the time I understood it - he did well in his previous season. But Moussa...
2020 was the calendar year when we finished top 5 or something (in theory), and thus it was perfectly okay to talk about the end of season/ beginning of next as both relevant. Not supposed to do that though if it makes a Ralph look bad. That’s the point SF4L was trying to make.
There will always be at least one positive in a bad game, and always at least one negative in a good game.
