Subs have been made way too late in the game. Everything about the selection and setup has been baffling to say the least

Far too late. I was feeling alot of positives about the way we have played before today and that makes tonight even more baffling. Credit to villa tho,they seem to be 1st to every ball and look like they want it more
The problem is obvious. We are light in central midfield (tonight and in the squad in general) and they have played with at least 4 central midfielders at any one time. We couldn’t match it even if we wanted to Ely presumably stayed on because he is supposed to be better on the ball and is one of the few who can theoretically play central ?
That absolutely encapsulates this woeful incompetent performance. Is 7 points the new on the beach marker?
