West Ham is a tricky place to go for most teams, especially as many away fans will be put off by their hooligan element. Home fans are very vocal and it's a tight ground. Only been up there once and it was not an enjoyable experience. Anyone who is travelling up has my utmost respect. Stay safe and put on your best Cockney accent! I'm going to go for a 2-2 draw. We have zero chance of keeping a clean sheet IMO but we've shown a glimpse of attacking prowess now and if Maynard has his game face on and can get some service from Albert, we could nick (no pun intended) a couple.
I think that there will be a decent number there for us tomorrow, there are a lot of London based City fans who could also turn up, evidence Charlton a few seasons ago.... I also have a sneaky feeling we might spring a surprise and go with the Doyler thinking 3-1 to us and in fact, I've gone £3.00 at 66/1 with Hills and £1.00 for the same scoreline with Nicky to score first at 330/1 and same again last scorer - also, 75p same 2 combo's with Albert first and last at 360/1 Come on boys, do me proud...!!
I have never seen City play at Upton Park but I went there in '75 to see WHU play Manchester City before going on to Wembley in the evening. It was basically the same WH team that won the FA Cup by beating Fulham 2-0. Mervyn Day, Frank Lampard (senior) Billy Bonds, Tommy Taylor, Alan Taylor, Trevor Brooking, Graham Paddon etc etc. West Ham won 1-0. It's a very tight and noisy ground and I remember a very intimdating atmosphere in the area around the stadium. A couple of local yobbo's heard me talk and accused me of being a Villa fan.....never did work that one out !
A good draw away from home! And we're off the bottom - for now. Holding the hammers away from home in front of 28000 fans is no mean feat, things are looking up?
