Neighbours over the back of us just got back from Turkey. Wife shared some of their pics on Facebook. Almost every shot is the dad and the 2 kids in matching Toon tops.

There's a very weird fanaticism that goes with all this.

I've met endless Newcastle 'supporters' who never go, aren't that interested in going but wear the shirt, shout the odds and boast incessantly about past glories, the cathedral on the hill, the famous number 9's, etc, despite having won nothing worthwhile in over half of their entire existence.

It's not just the odd nutter, it seems ingrained in them even if they're from nowhere near Newcastle.

 

Looked so pretty to me.... like it always did.

 

I know about 30 Newcastle supporters - many in my own family, or circle of friends. None of them go to the match. Truly bizarre

 

It really is strange.

There are other club's supporters, who don't go, and they'll 'keep an eye on their club' ...

... the non-attending Mags are absolute gobshytes who can't talk about football, just Newcastle.

 

Isn't a royal debate and don't want to start one but whoever advised him the photo would look better if he sat like that on the chair needs sacking. Doesn't look right and I doubt he ever sits like that!

did not see the score but from the f/book posts i thought they had done well, seems they needed a dodgy penalty to sneak a draw...also seems if you shout 'unfair' often enough then the next 'clear and obvious' error that the onfield officials did not see or think anything of, then the VAR referee who must have seen little wrong so handed it to the ref for another look so he could award the penalty to me says it was anything but a 'clear and obvious' error.

 

Haven't been paying much attention but it seems to be that they're playing out of their skin every game and can't do better than a draw regardless of who they're playing. Doubt they'll keep that level of performance up for a full season.

 

If Ashley and Bruce were there, there’d be screams from the home crowd to sack everyone!! But yes, playing fantastic seemingly and getting a draw.
