as i noted in my post earlier...alese got the first yellow for his apparent 'time wasting' yet we had seen a few late ones from the reading lads, not least was that thigh high studs in challenge on gooch.

shame as overall he did have a decent game when compared to the hairband king.

From a football point of view you cannot anywhere in the world beat that third goal in terms of style, simplicity....one touch football, clinical finish etc
If I was an owner of one of these mega billion pound clubs I would ask the question to the people who run the clubs and ask......why are we paying 60/70 million pounds for players when this Sunderland team are doing this with young kids that basically have cost nothing? Last nights goal has been referenced like a 'Barcelona goal'.....they would struggle in my opinion to replicate that goal with their so called world stars. Attitude is everything.....not money on a football pitch.

The referee, at 2-0, walked half the length of the pitch to warn Patterson not to time waste ...

... up to that point the lad hadn't wasted a second, we were going for a third ffs.

The look he gave the ref was pure 'did you just spill my pint' <laugh>

Just read through this whole thread. Must admit it gave me a chuckle watching how the narrative changed when the goals started going in.

People started having a wobbler a few weeks ago when I said I think we’d play better with a 5 in midfield rather than 2 up top :emoticon-0138-think

It was strange in the away end mate.

Dunno if you were there but Simms departure seemed to galvanise the team and supporters.

My wife was looking at me with a mixture of pity and bemusement as I screamed at Dan Neil to " ROLL IT IN TO CLARKEY" - I think, she thinks that I think they can hear me. I'm not entirely convinced she's wrong

I've had a couple of wines after a tough day. I ****ing LOVE this football club

After a tough ****ing few years, the last 7 months have been amazing, even when that snake Neil left to chase the dollar it didn't dent us. Maybe, just maybe KLD knows what he's doing.....

Thing is as well, we have such a young squad of players that you would reasonably expect to improve over time. Exciting times ahead.

Not sure who the other 2 have played and can't be arsed to look it up but they can't be harder than ours, based upon current league positions.
We have played 6 of the other top 8 teams, with Blackburn and Burnley the teams we haven't played yet.
