He's not scared of the Daily Mail. He knows when not to put your foot in it, unlike his predecessor.
Wait until she's in the ground and then go back to normal. It's not hard and it won't cost anything.

I do agree with Corbyn about this ****, though:

Some of the protests have been poorly timed or in bad taste.
That doesn't mean that they should be illegal, though.
Stephen Fry pretty much nailed it for me with this quote from 2005:
“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more... than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so ****ing what."

The problem with keeping schtum is that, while he's keeping schtum and ordering his subordinates to keep schtum, Truss keeps sneaking things through without any public scrutiny, for example she's snuck through a bunch of fracking licenses while everybody is being directed to look the other way, similarly the DWP have both quietly ruled they won't adjust benefits due to inflation and also flat refused calls to pause benefits deductions

And this is where telling people to keep schtum is an issue, because if a Labour MP criticised this there's no way it could be called "disrespectful" because the first bullet point would be the Tories exploiting the Queen's death as a smokescreen to push through whatever legislation they want and stick the boot in to those on benefits knowing the outcry would either be buried or hushed up because something something now-isn't-the-time

Once that phase is over, it'll be competitive blowing smoke up the arses of the new king and his wife, who previously, were widely and openly detested by a great number, especially by members of the gutter press who will now commence deifying them...

And he can call the Tories out for sneaking **** through during a period of mourning when it's over.
Doing it now makes the story about disrespectful Labour. Doing it later makes it about duplicitous Tories.

It really doesn't make the story about Labour being quote-unquote disrespectful, it absolutely puts the spotlight on the Tories being a bunch of ****s

Seriously, there's no way to frame the Tories being called out for using the Queen's death as a smokescreen and make Labour look bad, because reporting the story also means having to include what the Tories are being criticised for - and let's be honest, come next Tuesday you know full well we'll have yet another round of "It;s time to move on" and then there's no opportunity to actually bring that up because the press barons will agree

I've just read that QCs don't exist any more. Obviously the case, but that seems so odd.
I wonder how many other things like that we'll all stumble across over the next few weeks?

Some of us have been warning about this connection for years, screaming into an empty void!
Even if there's a response to these latest revelations, it's all a bit too little, too late for the UK I fear! <doh>

The Torygraph has accused the BBC of politicising the Queen's death

Right, the focus is off Labour MPs, will Luke Akehurst let them publicly talk about the cost of living crisis now...?
