If Northants are bowled out soon, and if (IF) Surrey attempt this run chase, they will need more than 8 an over, for nearly 40 overs. It will be fun to watch, anyway
I think people must have misread my previous post, I was clearly saying that I expected Northants to defy Surrey and bat deep into the final day, racking up a big score in the process!
Sibley, Davies, and Yates all back in the hutch. Sam Hain named after a pagan festival, now at the crease.
Unless Surrey can clone Curran, two or three times, before they begin their innings, I suspect that they won't have enough firepower to attempt the chase. Alternatively, they DO try, and lose.
Oscar, just edit your previous post, then claim inside knowledge, based on good understanding of Northants' batting depth
Please beat them. I want Warks to go into the last game needing a win. If they only need a draw they'll produce a road which is no good for us.
So, Surrey need 345 to win, or need to survive for 37 (ish) overs. Either way, Hampshire are the beneficiaries of Northants batting
Just out of curiosity I looked up the tie-breaking scenarios for teams level on points. If Hants and Surrey finish level on points at the top the first tie-breaker will be the team with the most wins which suits us.
