Two yesterday and the one against Sunderland, still I’d have in the first 11 every week, much more solid second half
AH Robins Talk @AniHarish5 · 14h Naismith looked like an unurtured 19 year old tonight Expect so much more from him
So glad you are paying attention we scored 2 they scored 3 so really we should have scored 4 ! well done on getting it right 20 pts!
ooooooohhh only a hint shame you didnt forcast your score on WIZ'S comp though when you you got it right I flicked over to see the results and you put 3 -1 ... mid afternoon I was going to change my result to the same ... honestly then I thought no an edit after tuesday nights games had been played might not be a good move as I hadnt checked anything and if I had gotten 2 correct results .........well ..........
The team opens out in possession. When they lose it they are not in great positions to defend. Gaps out wide. With players pushed up there has to be space there when attacks break down this leaves the three CBs exposed. The likes of Naismith are being asked to be offensive and put the team on the front foot. Error is inevitable as CB look to switch, drive into pressure with the bal looking to release and look to break lines. The team does have an identity. An intensity. The football Is exciting? Progress and improvement on a significantly reduced budget is occurring.
guilty also cant make up my mind if changing it is right or wrong done so a few times and should have left it ....guess it evens out ..........l
Went to Norwich. Looked good didnt get battered. City will be surprising a few - Nigel Pearson. You are.
you have a question? or maybe 2 questions? it is in thread to do with Norwich and BCFC where it compares opportunities and what happens on pitch during a game. Main aspects are possession / shots/ shots on target/ corners and fouls WBA played Birmingham and Birmingham won 3 -0 as noted from there stats the following showed up, as above ... [ WBA was home team and Birmingham away team ] the front 3 were responsible for the 3 goals and the 3 assists and although WBA had possession for 59 mins 18 shots 5 on target and 6 corners they failed to score .. Birmingham had 7 shots 3 on target and 2 corners and scored 3 conceeded none ..... city had 49 mins / 4 shots on target but 8 corners against Norwich's 2
I think we ARE very good in attack. Our defence is our problem. …….. but then we all know that and Nige knows it too - as do all the managers, players and fans of all the other teams in this league.
Agree Naismith has to stop the clangers far to many so far.But we are a million miles better than under LJ and DH. Football is exciting and great to watch. top six a real possibility as i did forcast pre season under Nige
Most of the time under LJ we had good first part of the season, maybe your memory is selective!! We are still very early into this years campaign. It’s taken over two seasons under NP just to be competitive and I really do hope you are right. As a coach of his experience and defensive background, I expect him to address our frailties at the back.. Exciting it might be, but needs to get sorted if we want to achieve top 6..
I can remember some 'exciting' under Benny - all those 5-4 defeats - thrilling!! I believe I remember that during that campaign at Christmas time we were second top scorers in the entire professional leagues (only Arsenal had scored more) but we were adrift to the foot of the second tier!!
So far under NP, there have been half a dozen games maximum (all this season) that would probably rival the best spells under LJ, and the 4 game winning start to the season from DH. As I said, let's see where we are come the end of Oct. As you all point out many times, LJ was a novice at the Championship level, as was DH, and NP is a seasoned manager at this level, so it stands to reason he should be doing so much better than LJ and DH, even with less money. What I can't fathom is that the only changes to the starting 11 from last season are Naismith (who has cost us 2 games this season with his mistakes), and Sykes; everyone else was at the club last season, so why couldn't NP have us playing like this last season. Some of the football in the first year of NP was also much much worse than it ever was under LJ, but probably not DH, to be fair, as some of that was dire, but I guess you will skip over that again RedRobin.
1-removing bad apples-2- changing the mentality-3- adding some excellent signings on a budget and gelling it all together.
