So, no more games until October, then we have to cram in about 300 matches in six weeks to accommodate a morally bankrupt World Cup tournament, then stuff in a load more games to finish the season before the next one starts. What a mess they've made of this season. They are called internationals and these all star teams get together quite regularly to piss off the clubs by playing tournaments. The bottom 4 clubs playing off... who the **** wants to watch that? Does he not realise these clubs get 100mil each for taking part. Thats not true. He was offside. There is a clear angle that shows even with the guy outside the box guy is still offside. it’s just the ‘angle’ of the unofficial lines drawn by fans making it look onside
I've always found offside rules to be problematic. Especially since they changed it so that you can be offside as long as you don't "impact play"... Which judging that can be pretty subjective. I've always thought the old "two line pass" rule in Hockey made more sense. Cleaner and easier to judge, you look at a hard line across the playing surface, not trying to judge where a dozen fast moving people might be lined up and if they're "in play" or not. I always prefer clean and clear rules in sports. Obviously, must be some problem with that rule since Hockey went to an offside rule like we have in football. Been a long time since I went to a Hockey game so don't know exactly how their new offside rule works. Kind of a long meaningless tangent since they're not going to get rid of offside and it would fundamentally alter the tactics of the game if we swapped it for something like the two-line pass rule.... But just wanted to say I don't like how offside rule is so hard to judge and how often refs get it wrong because it is hard to judge. Probably the number one source of officiating mistakes. Definitely one of the more "awkward" rules of the game.
No idea just shared it Interfering with play only works one way too. In that image above (genuine or not), that defender isn't involved or "interfering with play" so shouldn't be considered anyway but would be included because the rules say he should
