Yes. Yes. Yes again. Not only have police numbers been cut, but support staff are now non-existent with officers doing everything for themselves, on top of reduced officer numbers and increased offending.
That's odd, you would have thought The Part of Law and Orderâ„¢ would have done something about that...
That's how it works. Hoodwink the gullible that it's not working and that by privatising it, you'll save money...despite the need to pay an extra 20% (minimum) every year to those who take the risk of investing in an essential service, with no competition.
And add to that the cuts hit hardest with the enforced retirement of the most experienced (and often specialist department) officers. It takes a decade or more from recruitment to start replicating that level of experience.
Of course, you're right. The massive exodus of officers between 10-20 years service over the last few years has left things in a really poor state. When the last of those officers with 25 years plus, like Mrs B, leave the service, there's going to be real problems. I referenced it in the Politics Thread a couple of days ago...
May started the rot - with the assistance of too many compliant Chief Constables and more latterly, Police & Crime Commissioners.
I'd suggest it was some useless ****wit who, as Mayor of London, decided he was Home Secretary and installed Cressida Dick
Not sure that Johnson made that call as she was appointed Commissioner in 2017 after he left office. She was a Deputy under his watch though. And that would account for just the Met. All Forces were decimated from 2011 onwards for 7 or 8 years!
Remember he turfed out Ian Blair, and it does have to be said Dicks career trajectory was practically vertical once the randy Honey Monster was Mayor
David Squires nailing it, as usual... https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...uires-on-football-response-to-the-queen-death
In other news, Liverpool are looking sh*** again EDIT: Although their fans did boo the National Anthem- which is perfectly reasonable after 5 days of the same relentless sh*t about Duty Duty Duty
Porto 3-0 down at home to Brugge. Did not expect that. Marseille 1-0 down to Frankfurt. Didn't expect that, either.
Frankfurt hold on for an unexpected win that makes our upcoming double-header against them somewhat intriguing.
Coming soon to a Thessalonica nightclub: please log in to view this image I'd suggest that Andre Gray might want to keep an eye on his missus, but he should be ok!
