No criticism (not really sure why I say that, but anyway) - I do find it hard to keep up with LGBT, LGBQTI and LGBQTIA+ and all their meanings. I would look but … not now.

You're not the only one. I stilll don't know why they don't just all fit under the catch-all "Gay".

I’d have thought that the more letters they add the more they distance themselves from each other.

Some might be more gay than others, not that there’s anything wrong with that. Like shopping for a new car, some models come in 4WD truck mode, others may be a two stroke motor.
    Just saying…..

Yeah, but they all come under the heading of "vehicles".

I'm not sure I want to know the details...

One of mine all time favourite guitarist, Peter Frampton is about to play his final concerts.
He suffers from a muscle / nerve issue which has gotten worse and now needs to sit down whilst playing.

His tribute with Eric Clapton, ( another one of my and probably all time favourite guitarist ) While My Guitar Gently Weeps is a absolute classic.

Peter Frampton is preparing for the end of his touring career. He'll perform a series of concerts in the U.K. and Europe in November that are rescheduled dates from 2020.

In a new interview with Classic Rock (via Guitar.com), the guitarist revealed that he'll perform these upcoming shows seated, due to the progression of his inclusion body myositis (IBM), a degenerative muscle disease that has slowly affected his ability to perform.

Frampton says it's mostly a safety concern. "My legs are not good," he said. "And I've decided I am going to sit down on these upcoming tour dates in Europe. I can't stand. That would be dangerous for me now because I get so carried away when I'm playing that I'm liable to fall over."

He revealed his diagnosis in 2019, around the same time he planned for an elaborate farewell tour, which made its way across North America that year. Frampton was then scheduled to take the tour overseas to the U.K. and Europe in 2020. Those dates were postponed due to the pandemic but have now been rescheduled. (You can see a full list of upcoming show dates on his website.)

Since the announcement of his diagnosis, Frampton has been committed to raising awareness of IBM. After seeking treatment at Johns Hopkins Myositis Center in Baltimore, Frampton helped established the Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund.

According to one of Frampton's doctors, playing guitar may have helped to mitigate the progression of his IBM to some degree. "We don't have data to project where he will be in five more years, and one size doesn't fit all," Lisa Christopher-Stine said in 2020. "However, he's one of my slowest-progressing IBM patients overall. Maybe if you use your fingers that often, it delays the inevitable." She has since started suggesting to her patients that they take up guitar or piano.

Frampton admitted he's apprehensive about the upcoming shows – "I haven’t played over there in so long," he noted — but has assured fans he intends to wrap up his touring career on a high note: "It’s starting to affect my hands, but not enough yet, so I can still play a good lick."

Could be on the Make me smile thread...Might've been Vern out dropping of gifts!

Driver leaves toy gift for man who waves at M6 traffic

Alex Chesters (centre, with father Darren, left, and brother Will, right) loves drivers acknowledging him

A family was "left in tears" after a thoughtful Royal Mail driver left a gift for a disabled man who regularly waves at traffic.

Alex Chesters, 27, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, watches from a bridge over the M6 near Stafford, his family said.

The toy truck was left with a handwritten note from a driver who noticed him waving.

His family said they would like to meet the driver and "shake his hand".

Mr Chesters' brother Will, 22, said he thought Royal Mail was trying to organise a meeting after a Facebook post - which attracted 87,000 likes - was spotted by the employee.

Mr Chesters, who cannot walk for very long, was "obsessed with red" and usually travelled to the Ash Flats Lane bridge two or three times a week with his father Darren.

His brother said: "When he sees the Royal Mail lorries, he thinks it's Postman Pat.

"If they beep the horn, flash the lights, any form of acknowledgement that they've seen him, he absolutely loves it."

After his father and grandmother found the gift on Saturday, "we were all in tears", he added.

"Dad... put it in the family WhatsApp group and said 'look at this, I can't believe it'. Fair play to him [the driver] for finding the bridge... fair play to go out of his way.

"[It said] 'have a nice day', something as simple as that, it's really sweet, it was lovely."

The message also said: "I drive for Royal Mail and see you and your lad regularly and thought he might like his own [vehicle]."

Will said the family had messaged the driver on Facebook and that his brother also loved visiting railway stations, where it was "Thomas [the Tank Engine] this, Gordon that".

Other activities Alex enjoys include weekly visits to a farm for adults with additional needs, where he is given things to carry.

The thoughtful driver said they thought Mr Chesters "might like his own" vehicle

A Royal Mail spokesperson said: "We were delighted by this heart-warming act of kindness by one of our colleagues.

"We are now in touch with Alex's family about arranging for him to visit a Royal Mail site and see some of our vehicles up close."

So, the NASA thing which was crashed into an asteroid demonstrated that they can change the course of something hurtling towards the earth.

Brilliant, but this means we don’t need to send Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck to do the job. Can they go anyway?
