Total management failure to think this through. I am sure there would have been some staff willing to have operated some form of service, even if it was reduced for 24 hours. Explain to the customers that it will be to allow some to have the day off, and there would have been some understanding. What this will do to their long term reputation remains to be seen.
Should think so too, but I do wonder if it will completely restore the damage to their reputation. Not that I was ever likely to be tempted to use any of their sites, but I'm even less likely now.
