Him and Seri are both liabilities out of possession. Lovely in it, but when that’s what’s protecting the already shaky as **** back 3 it’s not going to end well
I would counter the striker point by saying we have a very good one in Oscar, the issue is that the only way he gets the ball is from crosses. He picks up the ball from deep and that's the only time he gets it to feet. At this level, nearly every defender is a massive bastard who headers the ball away with ease, so pinging balls into the box for 90 minutes isn't going to result in a goal. We don't do anything else, when we get to the middle, we're either looking to play it wide for a cross or shooting wildly and missing. If we actually used the passing ability of Seri and Tufan to play our forwards through and in behind, we'd be a lot more deadly.
2 kids on loan at the end of the window when we were panicking. We actually miss Smallwood in there as we decided not to bring in a defensive midfielders
Seems way over complicated to me with the CBs bombing forward creating overlaps etc. Too often Jones and Greaves end up in crossing areas when you want the likes of Tufan, Seri and Pelkas in them areas. How about getting the CB's to stay back and make sure we are solid.
To be honest st I’m not sold on Oscar at the minute but I questioned the lack of goals we score rather than the forwards directly
I'm more concerned that we don't look anything like as lethal as we did against Coventry. We can concede and still win, we can't concede and not score a goal and then win. We shouldn't be the home team and be dominated in the shots category. The defence is obviously a massive concern, but if he insists on playing a three, those are the best three centre halves we have. McLoughlin has to be asking for his chance, I'm not sure what good it will do as he makes mistakes too but he should by all rights be entitled to ask the question.
Didn’t even play that bad. Saying that, Stoke weren’t even that good either. We’re shipping an average of 2-3 goals every game recently. Shocking defensive record. Still lack muscle in midfield. Dunno what else to say. Whatever Shota’s telling them to do isn’t working.
there are managers out there more experienced & tactically aware than Shota who can get these players better organised & playing as a team. It;s up to Acun to approach one of these managers & convince them to come & manage Hull City
Amazingly, he gave Christie a chance in the 3 and sent Coyle forward... If I was McL id be outta here in January...
Well it’s not his fault but he shouldn’t be anywhere near a championship squad. If Oscar gets injured god forbid I genuinely would rather play no striker.
I wonder is Acun beginning to realise that media hype, tiger themed planes and boats, and feel good factor based on smiles don't amount to diddly squat in this league. Bringing in your buddy as a manager is also an absolutely terrible idea, for me, that is the worst and most naive move he has made. Business and buddies don't mix. Acun walked away from his Dutch team in less than a year - wonder what he is thinking right now...the last thing he will want to be is a laughing stock back in Turkey... he will lose all street cred there if this isn't reversed pronto. His dream is going kafkaesque big time right now and so might his finances and exalted position in Turkish entertainment.
I wouldn't be so bothered conceding if we looked a threat going forward. We don't even look that. To concede so many and no longer look like scoring, it's a growing concern
Didn't we? I thought we where very poor. Like you say Stoke where not that good either but how bad does that make us. Shocking performance.
Even if that is the case, it's still a failing of the management team and their inadequate communication. Agreed. We look absolutely clueless.
