Without parachute payments you need players like that who will run through brick walls for the team. Too many liabilities out of possession
They both started in the league cup for Chelsea, after Simons had previously come off the bench. We signed a similarly young Harry Wilson a few years back and he didn't need getting up to speed. We've gone the scattergun recruitment and Shota has no clue what to do with them.

We did, but then also you have to look at who they would replace. I'd have Vale in ahead of Longman, I was simply giving a reason why I think Shota hasn't played them. Would you drop Simons for Tufan? Seri maybe, but he hasn't been brought in to sit on the bench either. You wouldn't drop Slater at the moment, he's been our best player for the last few games.
