Can’t say a defeat wasn’t due, the team haven’t played well this season but results have been good.

We've looked a bit leggy in the last ten minutes and not made subs.
I think that might be an OG, too.

2-0. Arthur's first touches. Awful defending.

Pathetic end of the match by Spurs

Not signing a good defender in the window was always going to be a mistake.

Dier improved a little but still not good enough if you have high aspirations.

At least now the hype will die down and hopefully the team can focus on improving performances.

Sadly predictable. We had good spells in the game but with all our forwards having off days, we really lacked a cutting edge. You have to take your chances at this level, especially away from home. The overdue introduction of Kulu helped a bit but it was too late coming.

I’m surprised Conte didn’t make more changes, with both the CMs on yellows and visibly tiring he should have used the bench more. Hopefully this defeat serves as a wake up call for the coach and the players. We really need to kick into gear now.

Far from over in the group of course, but much improvement needed.

2-0 FT. Not a terrible performance, but an awful way to throw away any points.
Conte's got to hold his hands on up this one, for me.
Started Son when he's been playing crap, then took him off when his pace started working.
They pushed up after that and we lacked any way to run in behind them effectively.
Also failed to make any other changes, despite both of our midfielders being on cards.

    Not good away in Europe
But not a hard group to get out of
Spurs & Sporting should qualify easily

Only saw parts of the 2nd half thankfully, but that result was just what we deserved - and had probably deserved on a few recent occasions.

Do these pillock's actually train together? Evidence suggests they don't! <doh>

Obvious from minute 1 what Sporting CP were going to try and do.
The failure is wholly on Spurs not providing fast or
incisive passing in MF to vaguely apply pressure for
most of the game when they were sitting back.

    Emerson Royal <doh>

What a dreadful player. Offers little going forward and not even that good defensively.

He really needs to be moved on in January, I understand why they kept hold of him as it will take a while for Spence to get up to speed but if Emerson is still regularly playing after January then the club won’t be challenging for top 4
