Conte clearly doesn't rate him, for whatever reason. I think he's a good centre-half who doesn't complain when he's not playing, but it's not my choice. Better off having a decent run at Rennes before the World Cup farce.
Realistically his chances wouldn't have been affected much if he were a bit part player for us, considering Aaron Ramsey is their vice-captain in spite being a bit part player for Juve for several years, while Dan James had the ridiculous statistic of playing more games for Wales than league games for Man Utd a couple of seasons ago That being said, I don't blame him for wanting to play regular football after being considerably snubbed by Conte last season where he said Rodon was Dier's understudy - but when Dier was injured Rodon still didn't get on the pitch
And we were **** at the back because he moved Romero into the middle. Wasn't Rodon injured too, come to think of it?
I believe so. He played at least one match with a cracked rib IIRC, which did affect his performance, understandably.
I'm reasonably certain that Romero was initially signed to play the role Dier does in a back three, with Tanganga on his right ...and then Nuno played four at the back
In my slight defence, my hate for him was more out of being a diving prick than actually thinking he was a bad player. But I deserve that
In defence of DH (fill me a bath with Dettol ) , my doubts were : 1. he was not worth the quoted transfer fee 2. the diva diving On #2, I cannot recall any real antics from him to date. On #1, at the current rate he will prove me wrong soon enough.
It's totally understandable and I had the same initial reaction. His theatrics are why a lot of people dislike him, so he deserves it, really. Everton fans were right to be pissed about losing him, though. Must be very conflicted to see him scoring in the Champions League for us.
There's a certain degree of irritation watching Napoli and seeing players we were linked with but never pulled the trigger such as Kim Min-jae, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Elif Elmas, Stanislav Lobotka and Victor Osimhen all looking like smart signings - and the one player we did sign, Ndombele, looking like anything but...
Dan Kilpatrick: Harry Kane is willing to discuss an extension to his Tottenham contract (Evening Standard, September 12th, 2022) Marc Behrenbeck: Bayern Munich already in discussions to sign harry Kane next summer (Skyte Sports, September 13th, 2022)
Both are probably bollocks, but both could also be true. Pretty standard Bayern tapping up behaviour. Scummy club.
