search - murders in the uk by ethnicity. There's a lot of material from reliable sources

How do you explain nearly 50% of homicide victims in London being black? It is not white people going around killing them. I can't think of a single example and it would make front pages. But black on black is reported several times a week. Race is an issue, but as to why, there are a number of complex reasons, and I admit I don't have the expertise to evaluate them.

America has the same issues but apparently worse.

You're still focusing only on London. The drug gangs in London are predominately black, so a high proportion of homicide victims in London being black isn't that surprising. What are the stats for Liverpool?

    This bloke is good.....

I've given you the statistics for England, so not just London.

I'll listen to the rapper, I'm sure I'll agree with a lot. Some rap can reflect a violent culture. Classic example is America, the war between east and west coast, Tupac, B.I.G, Suge Knight etc

No, it's my observation of violent rap in the US. Renowned rapper Tupac Shakir boasted of living Thug Life. He was shot at different times and eventually dead. Biggy was shot dead. Knight, head of the influential Death Row Records in banged up for a long time for violent crime. These were high profile role models.

Not relevant to the UK, though.

I humbly suggest you listen to Akala.

Today in Iran a woman was immediately arrested for holding an anti-regime sign. Oh no it was in Edinburgh actually…

This is from 4 years ago but still very pertinent both in the US and here, alot of things said here resonate. It's all very well blaming race and drugs but sometimes you have to realise it could be a culture thing and address the problem !

I watched this - I agree with him about only one thing. Early intervention. It's crucial. It's no good having access to schooling if a child doesn't go, and his parents, or more likely parent, can't make him. There's a big issue about kids not going to school after the pandemic. They're being left to fester and wander into gangs. With all else that's going on with the economy, war in Europe etc, no one's addressing this, and there'll be storm brewing in youth violence.

His claim that the only relevance that "black" has in youth violence is self-hatred, is hogwash. These kids that listen to violent rap, mug people on their mopeds, make huge money selling drugs, stab their post code rivals are not doing it out of self-hatred. It's about power, danger, excitement, huge reward. Look at the following of gangster rappers have in America. To black kids, Tupac, Biggie, Knight are heroes. To compare it to white people, I guess it would be those that loved Jesse James, Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger. But those were a minority, whereas it seems a majority of black kids love violent rap.

So my award to Rapper Akala is 4 out of 10. And young black boys will keep dying in London.

In my humble opinion, you could add poverty, lack of opportunity, desperation, peer pressure etc to that list, probably infront of power, excitement and danger.

There needn't be lack of opportunity. Free education and a good job's market at the moment.

Peer pressure, sure, because I think a lot of these kids don't come from a family unit and often have no male role model.

I think you're right, culture plays a big part. I'm hopeful that culture can change. From the 1960's until around the Millenium, English football had a problem with hooliganism. You could say that was culture, and it's changed, and I hope it doesn't come back.

So, if there is a black culture of violent rap, drill etc, that should change. The problem is drugs, drug money and gangs underpin it, and so long as there's money to be made, it may endure. As Strolls says, this is a white issue too, but somehow, there seems to be a more professional aim, however evil, in white drug gang violence - psychopathy is currently more evident in black gangs imo and a complete disregard for life.

He wanted to set up a "sugar baby" fund for her & said she was like a bear & "sexy.
" It was a police decoy & given a 6 month suspended sentence.

The police officer who shot Chris Kaba has been suspended. London Mayor
    @SadiqKhan
called the suspension "a really important decision", which he "fully" supported. Firearms police officers have threatened to hand in their weapons after the Queen's funeral.

Lots of conclusions being jumped to on both sides of this.
It will be very interesting to hear what actually happened and why.
