Strong starting XI, as : 1. A win will put Spurs in control of the group before the Eintracht fixtures (who may not beat Marseille tomorrow) , 2. I trust a PL starting XI akin to Fulham to see off Lesta
That would imply we're allowed to play Leicester, and we currently have The FA and the Met blaming each other for a postponement that hasn't happened yet
We can go strong for this one, which is nice. I imagine it’ll be the XI that started against Marseille, maybe with Kulu in for Son.
Lucas didn't train with the squad today, which I'm sure is entirely because of some undisclosed injury...
I can’t see the Leicester game happening. Police resources in London are stretched until the Queens funeral
Except for when they aren't Chelsea playing Wednesday? No problem Arsenal playing Thursday? Oooh, I'm afraid we can't do that...
Anyway back to the match... Good news for us that we have had a week to prepare, Kulu for Son would be the only change that I would make for this one, but I think Conte will keep faith with Son and that Kulu will get another 2nd half cameo but its telling that in 2 starts Richarlison has made it a choice between Son and Kulu for the 3rd forwards spot. I remain hopeful that the old adage about class and form is true about Sonny he desperately needs a goal and maybe an appearance from the bench could help to focus the mind. Sporting looked good last week and Edwards was exceptional from the highlights that I saw, and he will certainly have a point to prove. I think that a draw wouldn't be a bad result.
Really need Son to turn up for this one. Sporting's right side of Porro and Edwards is a big threat and we need to make them think.
OK any predictions? No points in this game and no prizes either. There is no Brucie here. I don't have a clue because I have no idea how good Lisbon are, but of course Portuguese teams are always difficult to beat. Blanchflower would not approve because they bore you to death.
Sporting have never beaten an English team in the champions league - oh well that had to change some time I guess!
