He has the right to have an opinion. You do this a lot remove posters from threads yet allow others who often start the abuse to carry on.
Football is the only sporting events called off this weekend again the FA and EFL totally tone deaf and out of touch with reality
Enforced? No one is forced to grieve in North Korea, but if you don't grieve hard at the death of the "exalted one," your relations will be grieving hard for you by dawn.
Even if you have not respect for Her Majesty the Queen and don't think a period of mourning is appropriate for our longest serving monarch then just be glad we have an extra 4 days before the next game. 4 days to get over injuries, 4 extra days training to gell the new players. If the match was postponed for any other reason the republicans would be delighted. In footballing terms a fortnight would be an excellent break right now.
DCMS definitely won't have requested them to postpone, but I agree there is bigger things to worry about
I'm not so sure. But we can get some training in some legs ahead of Tuesday, less of a workload on a currently depleted squad and I agree, it's really not the end of the world.
Rugby League had a full programme of games on the week end of Diana's funeral and they are going ahead with a full programme of games this week end too.
They didn't. The government told all the sports bodies they could make their own minds up, they weren't being asked to cancel anything, but the govt suggested that they might consider postponing anything on the day of the funeral. The EFL decision was theirs alone, and I suspect influenced by the EPL decision to cancel.
If that's the case then I stand corrected, but wherever the decision rested, I still believe its the wrong one
I wish what you just said was true but having posted on here for a number of years I know very differently.
Yeah I know. Like I said they were on a hiding to nothing really and took the option that is definitely open to criticism, but easier to manage than criticism for playing by those who thought games shouldn’t be on.
Given that 'politics' runs into just about every aspect of life then what counts and what doesn't appears to be very much a subjective decision. I can understand a 'no party politics' rule but just about everything posted barring the football scores can be deemed political at one level or another. Agree that some seem to be allowed to get away with anything on here and others not
