    The government's national mourning guidance advised that cancelling fixtures was not obligatory, leaving the decision up to individual sports.

    Totally agree but it was the Queen herself who agreed to all this, apparently earlier this year

    I read that too. The eulogies all confirm that she was a woman without much ego and someone who didn’t believe in too much fuss about national mourning (ie her response to Diana’s death)

    Doesn’t seem to align really

    If horse racing has been changed to Sunday then surely Mondays football can go ahead

    It can but epl decided not to. It was their decision. Government gave it the go ahead

    Grassroots Football has been cancelled. Absolutely absurd for them to cancel kiddies football. If the FA want to cancel professional football then fine. I'm not happy about it but I'll accept it but I think stopping kids playing a sport they love and stopping them from seeing their friends is going to far.
