The Queen is under medical supervision as doctors are concerned for her health. Queen's doctors concerned for her health - palace - BBC News
The Queen is being monitored closely as her health has taken a turn for the worse… Get well soon Liz. I’m nowhere near a royalist but that’s very sad news.
More off topic than Politics. Not really right to discuss the Queen's health on this highly erm.....heated thread.
Nothing wrong hoping an ill person feels/gets better - I just hate this 24/7 news style of repeating the same info every 5 mins interspersed with some irrelevant vox pop. She is important and it is newsworthy off course, but she is also 96 and frail so it is hardly surprising or unusual.
Now all of her children are on their way to Balmoral. I hate to say this but it sounds like they've been told to travel up ASAP.
Have moved this to the off topic thread. Don't want this news mixed in with people slagging off politicians. The Queen deserves better.
Plus Harry & Meghan, which is hugely significant. It's not sounding good at all, almost waiting for the inevitable now.
The fact that they put out a statement in the first place is significant. The Queen's health is kept private normally. I'm not a royalist in anyway shape or form but it's going to be a hugely sad day when The Queen passes away.
Not looking good at all. As others have said, the fact that the whole family is travelling to see her is probably a sign of what is going on. Some may say oh well she is 96 what do you expect, but she has still been the Queen of this land for over 70 years and dedicated her life to public service. To me the monarchy are what make the UK what we are, our values, way of life and traditions and she has been the one stable thing for the last 70 years. Let's hope she pulls through at this time.
She has reigned for so long that the vast majority of the UK population have not witnessed or are too young to remember the death of a monarch. I think only Diana's death (due to the nature and shock of it) will come close to the level of mourning that we'll see when it happens.
I haven’t heard anything, but was leaning in that direction simply because of the coverage from the main channels. It’s almost as if they have been told to stay on air.
Yes, the fact that many presenters are wearing black was part of the reason but I've read that they have to be prepared so that they are not wearing some bright dress or tie when the moment comes. Protocol for official announcements is that it wouldn't normally be announced tonight even if she had died already. If they are going to break protocol the announcement would be after Harry arrives anyway.
