...Salah, Trent, VVD, Milner and Fabhino were benched for a while? How much bloody worse could it get?
We're already in that criterion. They look like they need some time on the bench, a) for a rest b) to take a bloody hard look at themselves
whisper it but we are worse than cheslea. not as bad as everton. I'd drop the lot of them but its not a rest they need. its a run and puke. then run some more. Boot camp.
I’m hopeful more than anything, that Thiago will help make the others play better. So will give them another chance. apart from James Milner - he needs to retire or just leave the club.
can't play 2 a week though... we need to get him into fitness and playing one game a week. not 2 60mins or walk off with an injury.
The fact that we’re so reliant on an injury prone player just shows how much of a sh*t show this all is. The club need to fix this
The pre season tour was a mistake imo. We should've done what city did and only play like two matches. Things are gonna get worse before they get better imo
I honestly thought it would be sorted this summer after the CL final defeat. The Mane situation was apparently no surprise but we seem to have put all our eggs in the Tchouameni and then Nunez baskets.
really makes no sense to me. It’s as if we only Tchouameni on the shortlist (or Klopp wasn’t interested in any other options)
What is our recruitment team doing then? Why are we literally waiting years for players? If other options aren’t available, then find another one? We literally interested in Nunes but said no and he went to wolves. I’m sorry mate but enough of these excuses all the time. Accept that the club have acted poorly and are now in a decline until they start spending some money and getting new players in
Maybe there were other options but they weren’t available is what I’m saying. We were only linked with the guy that went to Madrid. But we obviously had other targets. Maybe they were demanding silly money in fee or wages. Maybe the clubs just flat out refused. Maybe agents were messing us around. It’s too simplistic to say just cos we didn’t get the guy that was obviously our top target we sulked and decided to buy no one.
Well if certain targets aren’t available then we need to move onto the next one? We have to become more fluid in this process. We literally threw away one season not too long ago because we didn’t sign a defender and the same issue is happening again. We cannot keep wasting years waiting for the right target.
Like I say, maybe we did. Maybe we went to 3 or 4 diff midfielders and couldn’t get any of them for one reason or another. Not saying we did, but none of us know so saying why didn’t the club did this or that is always tricky
I wouldn't bench Fabs... A certain left back needs to be benched instead. I think a change needs to be made. I think Klopp needs to insert some discipline:. You play crap, I don't care if you are Mo Salah, you hit the bench next game. We can't keep humming along doing the same thing and expecting it to suddenly work. I have a lot of respect for Klopp, he's the right man for the job, but he needs to try something different.
Guys its not just targets. we need to get this into our heads. Its cash flow. we've talked til cows come home about accounting practices and amortisations etc but these are not actual hard cash. Chelsea exmaple: 2021- didn't give a flying **** about FFP or Covid. they ran up a 140mil loss as covid rules allowed them to. wages 330mil. 16.4mil cash on had annual revenues revenues will be 500mil or more exceptional costs: Capital expenses? zero more or less. no stadium builds to suck money, manager sackings? they are constantly at that! Sold in 2022 so all the equity debt in the holding company vanishes and they have no money to pay to new owner. what do they do? go out and splurge 258mil or something on players. they have borrowed that cash to pay those clubs. LFC: 2020/21 revenue 475mil wages 314mil cash on hand 31mil loss 5mil total debts unlike chelsea who had an oligarch in charge (who hasn't fallen out of a window so he must be a fascist) LFc had to look after itself so a last 200mil laon was arranged to voer this priord (most of which was handed back) So even though LFC look on paper to have as much revenue (more than chelsea, near same as man utd and only the oil doping revenues of city eclipse us) even though we've more ready cash on hand Even though our losses were less Our owners refuse to let us borrow to fund transfers nor will they forgive the stadium debt or pony for the anfield road end. As such the remainer of the main stand build (they did suspend repayment) is still on the books and so now is 70mil of funding for the anfield road end. same for the kirkby development. They are not going to magic 200mi lfor players form anywhere. the cash flow doesn't exist to buy these players. in 21/22 we reached CL final, were 2nd, won 2 cups. The money should be hitting a prioft of something like 150mil here. the issue is that will go out on other things FSG won't fund. Remember people saying we had a great team and we could afford kirkby as it was vital to developing the squad? well. thats 50mil gone form funds. remember people saying its only 70mil for the stadium and we have the best team we can afford it. Finally.... remember when FSG said this: 1. Attracting the best players (by first writing off the debt) . the debts inherited were gone 6 years ago. 2. Turn losses into wins. well they hired klopp 3. FSG's promise to outgoing chairman Martin Broughton upon purchasing the club in 2010. "We will have a stadium of more than 60,000. We will get substantial stadium development," well FSG might have promised it but their means to do these things was grow the business and let the buiness pay for everything. We will have the stadium, we will have the training ground, we had the success but everything will comes form the one pot that the club generates and that is that. No debt run up, no forgiveness of loans, no free ride. If we declare 100milk profit for 21/22 (and we should) then that money is going to the anfield road end.
