Morning all. Blue skies now after a massive storm at 6.00 am. I know it was massive because it woke me up, while smaller ones do not disturb me. While I am in town I must visit the bank that has been modernised yet again. The work has been going on for about a month, but was due to finish at the end of August. I just hope they have improved the lighting as it was very poor a lot of the time. Lots of new electronic gadgets to use now. I feel sad for some of the elderly folk who try to remember their pin number without writing it down and only want a few Euros. Life is made easier for the bank, but not always the customer. Have a good day everyone.
Day three of five day 'sleepover' with a six year old whilst his parents have a short back in Ibiza....... very tiring for an oldie!
Morning all. Blustery, but dry currently. My Friday night football took me to the Auvergne and the multisports arena of Le Puy FC. Not beaten at home for more than two years it was going to be a tough one. Having lost two of their key players in the last few days of the transfer window the fans of Chateauroux were anything but happy, but thanks to a strutting referee who spotted something in the penalty area that escaped me, a 2-1 victory was the result. All of the moans were quickly forgotten, and the twenty fans who travelled were able to see their team in a promotion spot in the early days of the season. Have a good day everyone.
Day four Railway Children Returns is just like the original ...and good enough for a quick doze.... meanwhile Watford were dozing a few miles south of me.....
Morning all. As expected, the drinks to celebrate a birthday did become a little extended. A full blown dinner was provided for 18 French and English friends and relations of our now 70 year old lady. People I hadn't seen for three years were there, and I found out about Limoges airport closing for six weeks to relay the runway and replace all of the lighting in the terminal with low energy fittings. The birthday girl spent six months at her English home and six months at her French one. She could have chosen to make her principal home the one here, and is now regretting that she did nothing to make that happen, so has to leave shortly for her winter in the north of England. It was a good afternoon, and I only remembered to check my phone for the score once. Have a good day everyone.
Morning all. Sunshine and showers are forecast, yet there is hardly a cloud in sight. The three holiday homes owned by English families are all occupied, so the hamlet is feeling pretty full. Our youngest daughter has suggested that she and her husband come over for Christmas and the New Year. It would be lovely to have them, but they seem to want to extend it into a three week spell, and we do like to take life slowly if we feel like it, which is not so easy with visitors. We are thinking about it. Have a good day everyone.
Picked up one of our electric bikes today... ordered in November..... due in April... put back month on month due to shortage of components ...Mmes still not ready.......
If you haven't already paid for it, try one of these conversion kits - assuming that you have a bike to convert... https://www.cyclingnews.com/feature...on-kits-give-your-current-bike-a-power-boost/
No... we opted for new ones .. our old bikes were all past it.... mind you we have a tandem... now there is a thought.... We bought quite lighweight bikes which cost a lot of my pension pot.. but we needed lightweight to lug on and off the car etc..... Maybe next year i would like to think of converting the tandem tho.....
Morning all. Overcast with showers forecast, but they seem to be avoiding us. The news today is that because of soaring gas and electricity prices about 30 swimming pools are shut. About 10% of pools are privately run and they are the ones to close their doors. Around 600 staff are laid off for the time being. It is all a bit of a mess, and as the children return to school, their swimming lessons are in doubt. Have a good day everyone.
Good day to you... https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/i...houghts-on-the-current-ownership-at-the-club/ I like this article as it discusses why there are such different views about the Pozzos amongst our supporters
Serves only to confuse over the ownership issue though. Ten years of 'Pozzo family' ownership, but no mention that Gino's is only eight years.
To be honest, a bit more from Watford fans - for many of whom 'history' apparently means what happened yesterday.
Agreed... but think that for anyone under 25 the Pozzos are all they know.....evenfor some under thirty.....So oldies like us are getting more in a minority these days.....
Our mission should we accept it is to live long enough to be a burden on our grand children and. see Watford win a major trophy
