I forgot he was brought in.

We need people to stand up and at least scrap. That's all.

Same as game 1. Spurs 0 Liverpool 0.

    Scrap or go **** off.

Matip came on and did a bit.
Vvd was shocking. Hit the ****ing ****s as the ball comes.
    Fabinho looks shot
    Milner was a joke
    Salah was a joke
    Trent was a disgrace
    Gomez absolutely bottled it.

I'd rather see guys plough some ****er out of it and have to be subbed before they get a red thank pull their foot out and let guys run past them

So you want Milner to play more? I'm confused.

    My ratings

Ally: 6 ****ed up in the first minute and should have done better with their fourth. But saved a pen. Utter shambles in front of him.

Trent; 1: One great through ball, one brilliant pull-back cross. The rest was abysmal. Must be the twentieth half-arsed tackle followed by an unhurried saunter back to 'defend' in seven games so far this season. Get him in midfield - NOW.

Robbo: 4 Most of the problems tended to come down the other flank, but not all. And his final ball was rushed and fluffed. Still the best of our starting defenders.

Virgil: 3 I get he's not the player of two years ago, and he's in his 30s and would be slowing down anyway. But he's dropped alrmimgly this season and not last season when he came back. Good clearance off the line though.

Joe 2: That third goal - well Trent got rinsed (again) , but Joe and his pace should have had that sorted. The two together are a recipe for disaster. THAT SAID, he's our best option at RB.

Fab:3 Is the only Brazillian who seems unable to play in the heat? And a few through balls that shouldn't have been that hard completely ****ed up.

Milner: 4 Early booking, caught in possession, the engine of a 40-year-old Triumph Toledo. Doesn't belong at this level whatever the injury crisis.

Elliott; 5 Completely isolated and out of the mix at times. Had one reasonable chance that he couldn't control. Disappointing.

Bobby: 5: Couldn't trap a dead rat for 20 minutes. Inevitable he'd play more of a 6 than an 8 with that midfield though.

Diaz: 7. Comfortably our better player even if he runs into brick walls and cul-de-sacs half the time.

Mo: 3. Missed an utter sitter again (at a really, really vital time too). Commentator said he was taken off to save him for Wolves - we should have taken Diaz off for that purpose, not him.

    Subs;

Matip: 7 It really is something that he's without a doubt our most steady defender now. And the most injury-prone. Jesus.

Nunez: 5 tried to make space, but we insisted, mostly, to give him the ball with his back to goal. Great through-ball from Elliott though that he tripped over (again).

Thiago; 6 here's what you could have - and will probably need soon when he gets injured again.

Jota: 5 Tripped over the ball more than Darwin, and that took some doing.

Artur: 3 Ffs, looked dead on his feet after two minutes.

Klopp: 4 What formation were we today? Were we really trying to play 4-3-3 with Milner in midfield? Do we still have the midfielders to play 4-3-3? Even our first choice midfield is three slowish, not-very-dynamic 30-somethings. We have no flexibility in our one size fits all approach. This is going to be one ghastly season. Back to 2015 where we started. I think Brendan will be available soon... :emoticon-0108-speec

    He was ****e

90% of passes backwards. Zero positivity really. Thats what he is in there for.

No challenges and it was just too big for him. He's only 19. People seem to want to say that means not matter how big a hole we've got in midfield he's not responsible.

He's there to be more creative than the others and he's just putting it back time after time. That's an issue. When trents wandering off having fun he has to cover but doesn't

2.5/10 compared to trents -5/10 then.

Milner is a joke. He's gone in sliding straight legs with both feet and only got a yellow. That's not getting to the pitch of the ball and hitting both man amd ball with positive aggression.

He never got near anyone there

Managed to give another goal away and was general then running about playing wing or running past the ball in a faux press.

    He can do one.

    Well pay attention then :bandit:

Seriously if he's going to be the positive attacking cm he has to actually take a risk and make a run or play forward. It's all just recycle inside.

It's you who needs to pay attention, plenty of creative play from him. It's tracking back that he struggles with as he lacks pace.

Show me some clips where he's slipped a successful pass into the forwards. Probably cputn them on one hand. There's about 50 of him cutting back from right to his left foot and playing back to cb, trent or fabinho even if there's no reason to.

    It's too safe.

Not Elliott. And abysmal as Joe was tonight, I think he'd be our best bet at RB atm

I think Joe is a terrible RB. I'd play Tsimikas there

You need to not wait until the window has closed before you recognise you've got an emergency, sadly.

    Not after that.

He's bottled it there and here has to be consequences of bottling it. One mistake that's blocked out luckily and his head was gone.

Try tsimikas for the laugh. If a 30 year old milner could replace more no as a right footed cm playing at lb them surely a full back could stand in?

There's literally nobody in youths at the minute so we've not.much option

Bit anyway klopp will just pick the same and rinse and repeat.

I disagree. He's not as terrible as Trent, far superior to Milner, but I haven't seen Tsimi play there, tbf.

We are in a bad place now. This is the first quality side we have faced this season, I don’t count the Community Shield friendly. Apart from the Bournemouth game we have been poor but tonight, we were ripped apart in a way that suggests there is a lot more wrong than a few injuries. I am hoping for a reaction against Wolves, some of our players need to have a good look at themselves, Trent needs to grow up and Mo is a disgrace at the moment. They don’t seem that bothered. When your team is beaten by a better opponent, hats off to them. But we didn’t seem to be that bothered, slow start again, concede first again. What is really unforgivable is not putting a decent tackle in or just watching opponents sail past. Tonight was an embarrassment and we need to shape pretty soon

Yeah there's a group of about 7 players who need a full preseason over next 4 weeks.

    Jota
    Thiago
    Arthur
Nunez (dunno what he has been doing for past weeks)
Trent (run him til he pukes up and down a sideline)
    Kelleher
Henderson (state of him v utd, but is injured)

We just do.not have any options for midfield. None.

They cannot run, pure and simple.

Really don't know what we can do from that

442 with midfield diamond? We don't really have the bodies as 8s.

4231? Don't know what to do with that thiago and fabinho could be two 6s.
