Not on here, Robbie, but the PinkUn message board has many detractors who say he simply isn't good enough for NCFC.
I agree, although his performances have been weakest in his supposed preferred position if I’m honest. I’d love to see him really step up, I like his style - and that goal is a scorcher.
Well, "not good enough for NCFC" is just silly. On the other hand, I think it's fair to say that he's yet to quite live up to the hopes that many of us have attached to him. According to transfermarkt, he has another year on his contract after this, and the club hold an option for a further year. He'll turn 25 next March. I wonder how he himself sees his future now.
I’ve always said that the Pink’Un is the preserve of lunatics and opinions there should be taken with a pinch of salt. Twitter is a whole level worse.
The Pink’Un thread about Attanasio's prospective appointment to the board includes some interesting (and in some cases clearly well-informed) discussion of the possible scenarios vis à vis share holdings and ownership.
I would broadly agree with you, but suggest that the DM position is one that takes time to bed into. The DM needs to know the rest of the set-up in order to do his job properly. He needs to be able to read the whole of the game in front of him and be aware of the defenders behind him. Compare that with a winger, for instance, who needs to know so much less of what is happening on the pitch as a whole.
Yes, there are a lot of idiots on PinkUn who just seem to be looking for a fight. But there are a few really smart thinkers, too. EDIT: Embarrassing grammatical mistake on my part.
He played his best football when everyone was injured last season in a 2 alongside PLM, but then unfortunately got injured. Id love him to nail down a starting role in midfield here.
I have not spent a lot of time on here lately because I was getting p*ssed off with the load of hysterical anti Smith nonsense which was building up. I am glad to say that the impressive style, play and organisation I saw in the friendly in France is now being produced in the league and that is down to the Manager who is making certain that each player knows what his job is, has carried the players with him and is flexible in formation and substitutions before and during games. He won't let the players get carried away with the current form and nor should any of us but we are 2nd in the league despite not being able to play the first specialist DM we have had since Skipp and, who we anticipate will be, our new star midfielder. Farke was brilliant for us but did not have the quality in the squad to succeed with his style of play in PL survival. The gulf between the PL and the Championship is getting wider and it is increasingly difficult to bridge the gap but, if we do go up again, I think Smith with his knowledge, expertise and flexibility has a chance of survival for at least one season. I know for a fact that a lot of Villa fans are still angry that DS was sacked and would have him back now. So ends the sermon from the DS Supporters Club.
Pukki was ill on the day of the picture. Lungi is also missing but he was back in Denmark. Not sure when they took the picture as Rashica is there in the front row.
