Nor is the Chelsea job.... You think Potter can last more than 2 and a half years. If you do then give your head a good wobble now. Hodgson was the perfect man for Liverpool in 2010 and he failed, Moyes was the perfect man at Scum and he failed. Potter is the perfect man for Chelsea but Chelsea is the wrong club for Potter. Even if he wins a trophy in that 2 years he will be gone when they results blip. I don't buy that horse crap about looking to sack Tuchel for months. If they had he would have been gone in the summer and they wouldn't have paid £250 million. They've sacked him cos they were lying in 6th and got humiliated by us a few weeks ago.
I didn’t say he should take the Chelsea job. I said I doubt he’d want the England job at this stage of his career. Couldn’t give a **** where Potter goes tbh - he can stay at Hogwarts for all I care.
Why would you not want the England job? I mean if you want to waste 2 years of your career looking over your shoulder knowing your going to get sacked that's up to you however you could take the England job and have a secure job cos there are barely any decent English managers
Potter has opportunity to make himself financially secure for life whether he lasts in the job or not. Anyway I’m sure he feels he’ll succeed as would any prospective manager. He’d be mad not to take it
Southgate was lucky to get a job at the FA in the coaching staff for the kids. He put together a pretty good bunch of kids from premier league club academies. Big Sam decided to keep him on and a couple of months later was stitched up and resigned as England boss. Southchin was given a go as interim manager and he binned most of the so-called big England players and used mainly his U21 players and did well and kept the job. He cannot manage big players and never has been able to thats why hes never done a decent job at a club because decent players know what decent coaching is. The same players that did well for him are now not doing so well for him as those players are now used to top coaching from Tuchel, Conti, Klopp, Pep. Etc
This is pure genius . Essex, experienced poster, tactical wind up specialist with the nous to sense a set up will be bamboozled by this bit of what will become forum history. Well done sir (or madam, or carrot, whatever you identify as), this bit of art will outlive us all
I was exasperated and flummoxed at the same time by his (her, their) undoubted wisdom I just gave up in the end
Per capita of money spent by each club, that's a pathetic performance from the English clubs. Irish contingent out tonight but its genuine football not driven completely by money so who knows how that will go
